Swan Street is a great spot to discover. Many of the traditional pubs have been renovated and reinvented (some better than others) and there are heaps of great restaurants and coffee shops. It’s a great area to go to after the footy too. Public transport is plentiful with Richmond and East Richmond train stations close by and the number 70 tram running along Flinders Street to the sports entertainment complex of the Tennis Centre/Rod Laver Arena/MGC/soccer stadium and Swan Street.

Any Melburnian will tell you that Victoria Street is the prime place to go for good Vietnamese food plus a range of other Asian cuisines. It's a fairly gritty street but it rarely disappoints in my experience. There are some fantastic and generally very reasonably priced restaurants on this strip. In addition, there's lots of life and colour here. An iconic area.

This is a popular location for sporting teams (who have preference to the oval for training and games), dog lovers and families with a great playground and bbq area.
