You must book to go to this fabulous cellar door, so do it now! Matt was relaxed, friendly and knew his wines intimately. The Pinot Noir was the highlight, no the Riesling was, no the Pinot ... oh, just get both! A must visit winery in the Coal Valley.

Loretta and Andy are so welcoming and friendly. Our overnight accommodation was tastefully presented, great queen size bed, lounge room and kitchenette, seperate loo and great bathroom, (including a bath) and shower. Andy made the BBQ available for me to cook our dinner. The breakfast was scrumptious and most generous including freshly baked bread, juice, home made jams plus fresh fruit and cereals. A fabulous cheese platter was presented to accompany pre dinner drinks. A wander around 2.5 hectares of vines with the grapes forming with some varieties not available anywhere else in the World. Minimal but efficient grape presses and some 20 barrels filled with several varieties of wine. Loretta gave us a personal tour with bottles under her arm for wine tasting along the way. All provided with passion and love accompanied by their Black Labrador, Archie. A must visit winery in the Coal River Vally and a wonderful place to stay. Richmond is a close 2 kilometre walk or drive. Nearly Tuscany.

This church is beautiful inside and out, and is well worth a visit. The tranquility inside it is on its own worth the visit. As the oldest Catholic church still in service, it has a long history and this seems to emanate from every wall, window and pew. Of particular note is the bespoke input to this little colonial church by the renowned English gothic revivalist architect and designer, Augustus W. N. Pugin. He is most famous for designing the British Houses of Parliament and Big Ben (check him out on a search engine). St John's is one of three Pugin Tasmanian churches, the others in Oatlands and Colebrook.

Puddleduck Vineyard is a family run vineyard in Southern Tasmania. the family welcomes you to taste our beautiful cool climate wines that have been both grown and made onsite at our friendly cellar door, which is open from 10 - 5 daily. We only sell our wines here at Puddleduck so be sure to call in and enjoy a taste and perhaps a snack from our grazing menu,(cheese platters, dips, vineyard platter) or you can "Reverse BYO" (bring your own food to enjoy in our outdoor areas) while enjoying one of our beverages or a wine tasting. We have a wide range of duck items in our "Everything Ducky Duck Shop" where if it looks, walks or sounds like a duck it is most likely for sale! Families are welcome and children kept busy in our playground or feeding the multitude of ducks and guinea fowl while mum and dad enjoy a wine tasting or hot beverage.
We were in Tassie recently and boy hasn't this little 'ole state come a long way!...Called in to Puddleduck on recommendation and certainly well worth it. ALL the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Great wines, great tasting experience and we certainly bought a few. Try the Fume Blanc, I haven't had a white as good as this in a very long time and the last one was a Tassie Riesling. Ver Jus with today water is very good too and something different. Puddleduck has a great little gift shop, not too expensive and a really good brunch menu, plentiful too. Location is really pleasant with a great outlook. Whats more it offers BYO Food, yep you can bring your own picnic, even use their BBQ's and sit under cover if you like by the dam while the kids feed the ducks. All they ask is that you leave your drinks in the car....great idea and we will be back for sure...

We stopped on a wine, gin and whiskey tour at the Wicked Cheese and had a lunch of 4 different local cheeses, of which the Pepper Berry Cheddar and Ash Brie were fabulous. Local fizzy drinks and a good range of biscuits and extras on the board. I had GF biscuits. Staff attentive and friendly and food was great value.
