With family went there and had visited the mosque and we were amazed with what we saw inside the mosque: the cleanliness, the paintings (different colors). And we had visited a lot of them all over but this one is very unique and very beautiful!

The monastry is quite a drive up a mountain road, drive with caution as there are some quite sharp bends which climb at the same time, although it is in Macedonia it is quite near to the Bulgarian border. There are 2 churches here, 1 from the 12th century and the other from 19th. It is set amongst trees and hills and enjoys a peaceful spot. I was glad to see it not overrun with tourists, I think though Macedonia is only at the beginning of exploting its jewels to the outside world. Now is the time to visit.

As if landed on a hill, you can see it everywhere - if you are above it, if you are on a boat tour (the view is amazing at sunset), from both shores. From the playground in front of the church the view is also amazing, it is no accident a favorite decor for wedding photos. The church itself is in a typical orthodox style, renovated, much attended. You can reach it from downtown or from the fortress, but you must. You will not regret it.

Compared to some of the other churches in and around Ohrid, this church, St Kliment is a bit understated - although we still thought that this serene building was most enjoyable. Unusually parts of this church are very simplistic , white washed walls contrasting with dark stained wood panels, but this had the effect of being a respectful inspiring and reflective spiritual building. Given the almost understated nature of the church, the location of St Kliment final resting place is almost hidden away, unusual for this saint has achieved an almost cult status.

Saint Sophia, built in the Middle Ages, this Macedonian Orthodox Church displays centuries-old religious art and amazing architecture. It's the oldest Byzantine church in Macedonia. It represents one of the most important sights in Macedonia with its medieval architecture and frescoes. The tariff to enter the interior is 100 MKD,

Svet Naum was high on my list of places to visit while in ohrid. The church sits on top of the hill built in the 16th century. It’s the oldest Balkan church. Peaceful and tranquil surroundings. Surround by beautiful gardens and an amazing view of lake ohrid. I would suggest bringing your swimmers and spending the day at Svet Naum. You can have a relaxing boat ride along the lake, enjoy lunch at the many restaurants, shop at the many survivor stores, take a swim in ohrid lake, explore the churches or just chill out at one of the cafes enjoying the scenery. We actually visited Svet Naum twice and I would go again. Absolutely beautiful. Enjoyment for the whole family
