There is not very many historic buildings in Regina, but Government House is definitely one of them. The building was restored and preserved as it was 1900s. They have afternoon Victorian tea party once a month, which is worth visiting. However you need to register for it in advance.

Immediately after we arrived at the hotel we booked in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada post ~8 hours driving started from Fargo, ND, USA, the first thing that family wanted to do was to visit this park. It was around 4:00pm in the afternoon of a sunny day at the end of July 2018. When we drove to park, we found that the park was built around the famous and beautiful Wascana Lake - a Park in the heart or center of the Regina City, like but bigger than the Center Park in New York City. There are several small islands in the lake with only one named “Pine Island” that we could freely walked into. From there you can see some people are boating or kayaking while birds like sea gulls and several swans are playing or maybe looking for food in the lake water. While we drove along the beach road to a place - should be at the Northwest corner, we were deeply attracted by the beauty of the flowers in a garden. So we parked our car and enjoyed the variety of the beautiful flowers inside the garden - Queen Elizabeth Garden that is in front of the Saskatchewan Provincial Legislative Building. Between the Building and the Garden, you can see the sculpture of Queen Elizabeth riding on a horse while on the other end of the Garden that is close to the lake you can see the sculpture of the most famous politician of Saskatchewan, Walters Scott, who was the founder of both Saskatchewan and Alberta provinces of Canada. Among all the beautiful views of the Park left in our brains, the unique beauty of the so many types of flowers in the Garden, are the most magnificent and unforgettable.

Regina, our former home for decades, was a city we were proud to take many visiting family members to see the famous Dinosaur and many exceptional wildlife scenes (back in the days when it was the Museum of Natural History.) This icon has the well-deserved reputation of being one of the very best internationally. If you're in the Queen City, be sure to stop in and be amazed!

We arrived in time for the 10am tour. No backpacks are allowed and there is security scanning before proceeding. Our tour guide, a young man that I can’t remember his name, did an excellent job and was very knowledgeable. Tour took about 40 minutes and gave a fair bit of history of Canada that I wasn’t up to date with. Magnificent building.

We purchased a Family membership this summer for $100 for the year as single admission is quite expensive. However, the membership has been quite worth it! We are particularly enjoying the stage shows and weekly maker space STEAM activities. We also participated in the first science time for tots last Tuesday, which was great. These special weekly activities keep us returning and then we explore the science centre a little bit differently each time. It is worth getting a membership if you plan to go more than once in the year. Definitely check out the maker space when you go! It currently runs from noon to 3pm daily and you can see the schedule of activities on the science centre website.

I really enjoyed myself at the Heritage Centre, it was a well curated collection; with many examples from former RCMP Members such as Medals, weapons, uniforms. They have some things for younger kids, but one of the interactive driving sims was well past needing service. The 3D horse exhibit was fun but I think the audio did not work? I would definitely recommend the RCMP Heritage Centre for all, though I feel the older members of the family will get the most out of this as you get to appreciate everything with more understanding of history. Depending how in depth you would like to get you could spend 2-4 hours easily.

We've been described as a "hidden gem" which is mainly due to to our location. Although initially a little difficult to find you will be glad you did. Bursting with tropical plants, exotic trees and brilliant blooms from September to June, Regina Floral Conservatory extends a warm welcome to all visitors. We are open every day (except Christmas and New Years' Day) from 1pm - 4:30 pm, Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun. Thursday we are open from 1:00 - 8:00pm and Friday we will open at 11:30 - 4:30 pm. There are some exceptions due to private events. We host 5 Teas each year and have 6 seasonal changes.

I love going here in the winter months as it gives you an escape from the cold and snow. Great for elderly people. The volunteers at the front desk are exceptional.

Stone Hall Castle was an amazing experience. I didn't know what to expect, and I was afraid it would be corny or tacky. However, the owner is extremely passionate about the place, and has thoughtfully assembled a wonderful collection of artwork, furniture, tapestries and many more artifacts and treasures that make the place feel like an authentic medieval castle, even though it's in Regina. Highly recommended.
