The Alhambra citadel of Granada is one of the most famous buildings in Spain: a Moorish fortress with grand archways and delicate ornamental mosaics. Step backwards in time as you wind through the ascending cobblestone streets of Albayzin. You’ll be rewarded with beautiful views from the Mirador San Nicolas. Granada’s nightlife is vibrant and varied, thanks in part to its student population. Hit the bars of Calle Elvira or, for a quieter outing, the traditional tea rooms of La Calle de Las Teterias.

One of the delights of the Alhambra is that there are so many interesting things to see. The museum and art gallery in the Palacio de Carlos V is excellent with some superb paintings, beautifully displayed. Entry is free if you have an EC passport. The 'bull ring' courtyard in the centre of the Carlos V comes as a bit of a surprise.

La Alborea Souvenirs Shop is located in the heart of Granada, next to Plaza Nueva, which is at the foot of La Alhambra and the Albaicin. It is a place of reference and step for both local and foreign tourists.

Interesting house and small local history museum, but the best points are the portraits of royalty along the stairs which show you Isabel and Fernando and all the others you've been hearing about if you have been visiting Granada. Highpoint definitely the carved and black and gold painted ceiling called Cuadra Dorada, exceptional. On the main road in the Realejo área, entrance is free.

The unfinished Palacio de Carlos V provides an excellent setting for Granada’s display of fine art with an emphasis on Granada’s connection to it. There are pieces from the 17thC up to the 20thC. The recently refurbished museum provides a peaceful and climate-controlled environment compared to the throng and heat of the remainder of the Alhambra.
