Fantastic experience, it is a bit like walking through a jungle (on a stroler-friendly path), the animals are really close, for the most part not in enclosures (predators are), and not afraid of the at times many visitors, which makes the experience even more amazing. The outside space is especially fun for kids and adults young at heart (and body) as there is a big jungle-playground and enough space to enjoy a picnic. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Enough parking spaces. Good cafeteria and gift shop.

We took a guided tour in English which was free once the admission was paid. Really enjoyed hearing about a diverse selection of chairs and how Danish design became an international brand. There was a wide spectrum of contemporary design, like furniture, product design, graphic, design, fashion, and design for public spaces. Going through the collections took me on a nostalgic trip back to my earlier years when I lived in Denmark. Also the exhibition `Learning from Japan` that presents the museum`s prestigious Japanese collection side by side with Danish crafts, design, architecture, and graphics inspired by Japan was most interesting.
