This is simply the best cycling trail that you would see around Bangalore. ‘A passage to India’ and ‘Sholay’ movies were shot here. It is a pure countryside cycling. On this one-day safari, discover old visions of India: a land of cows, monkeys, laughing children, rice paddies, mango orchards, rose nurseries, granite cliffs and temple after temple; and climb the Ramadevara Betta hill. This is a real rural India experience that you won’t find on other itineraries. An enjoyable ride that finishes with an astounding view from the top of the hill and you will find nothing but the sound of silence for company. This trip leaves you in no doubt that you certainly are on a rural holiday!

The royal city of Mysuru known for its heritage and monuments is replete with rich tradition and is referred as the cultural capital of Karnataka. The city is also home to the famed Mysuru silk and a visit to the silk factory reveals the work that goes into turning silk threads into silk sarees. Chamundi hill is home to the mother deity of Mysuru- Chamundeshwari, and apart from paying obeisance to her, we also get a panoramic view of the city from this hill top. The vibrant and colourful Devaraj Urs market is a delight to stroll through with spices, incense sticks and flowers on display. A visit to the silk cocoon market in Ramanagar and wooden toy factory at Channapatana offers an insight into the small scale industries that thrive in this region. Note: Some of the tour attractions cannot be experienced on Sundays/ Public holidays as they would be closed.

My family recently did a 3 hour cycle ride around Hesserghettq lake. Tej was an excellent guide- She was patient, kept us safe, really friendly and knowledge about the area. Everything was very organised and well planned. They provided great snacks and we stoped for coffee along the way, and ended with a much needed coconut water. The scenery throughout is beautiful and peaceful, going through little villages and passing lots of farm land. It felt like we had truly escaped the city for a few hours. I highly recommend the tour.

I had booked the private tour of Royal Mysore with Five senses tours and we had Satish as our guide. It was an amazing day. Satish was a fantastic person with immence knowledge. He was also very caring and took very good care of us who were all first time visitors in India. Mysore was incredible and the palace is no less than Taj Mahal. We also saw other parts of this old kingdom like the old bazaar and few more palaces. The lunch was fingerlicking. Satish had suggested traditional Mysore meals and it was a great experience. Go ahead and book this whenever you are in India! Fully recommended.
A day tour is through the areas of Ramanagara and Channapatna, two towns near Bangalore famous for their cottage industries. The Culture tour aims to take a visitor on a Silk route - from the humble silkworms, their cocoons to the markets & factories - in an effort to show the process and the diverse people behind the silk industry of South India. Do you know India produces 20% of the world’s silk? (Of course, no guesses on who is the world’s largest producer of silk). We journey onwards to Channapatna, learn about the communities that live here and their famous handicrafts livelihood. We will visit the toys’ factories and the shops as we learn about how these colourful wooden toys are created, its journey across the changing times and the modern interpretations. Apart from the industries, We will visit a quaint and a beautiful Sufi Dargah, a centuries old temple and return to Bangalore by evening.
Inclusions: Private transportation

I am experienced traveler and consider myself "adventurous," but the combination of logistical challenges and language issues can make South Indian cities overwhelming. As much as I love exploring, doing the pete area on my own would have been intimidating. Poornima made it just fun and I saw things that I would never have seen on my own. She was also very adept at quickly leveraging my own particular interests--I mentioned Jainism and then, when we came across a Jain festival, she took me in the neighborhood Jain temple. You can't do better than this.
