If you want to buy good value, amazing quality gems in Jaipur from a great business with integrity, head straight to Gem Plaza. My fiancé and I got engaged in India and were hoping to get a sapphire engagement ring made in Jaipur, if we could find the right gem for the right price. After shopping around a bit we stopped in to Gem Plaza on a whim. Not only did they have an amazing selection of rare sapphires (much better than the competition), but the service from Sakhil, whose family owns the business, was very informative and professional. There was no sales pressure whatsoever. After shopping around a bit more and finding nothing close to comparable in quality, we ended up returning to Gem Plaza the following day and purchasing a stunning and rare sapphire for a very fair price. After the sale was done, Sakhil ensured us he could have the ring made before we had to leave Jaipur, and he brought us to tour the factory where the family business makes its gems. Once we arrived at the factory we realized the scope of Gem Plaza’s business and had no doubt they are the ‘real deal’. We even got to see our ring being made. Adjacent to the factory is a remarkable museum founded by Sakhil’s family which contains one of the the most impressive collection of artifacts we’ve seen in our years of world travel. The museum itself is a work of art, and Sakhil took the time to walk through and explain many of the pieces to us. It was simply amazing. Even if you are not in the market for jewelry I would highly recommend that you visit this museum as it was by far the best we’ve seen in India. I can’t emphasize enough how gracious and hospitable Sakhil and his team were throughout the whole process - while our purchase was probably not a huge one in the grand scheme of their business, we were treated like royalty the entire time and every effort was made to give us lifelong memories of getting this special ring in Jaipur. We can’t recommend Sakhil and Gem Plaza enough if you want to buy any kind of jewelry in Jaipur. They have certainly earned our business in the future. Thanks again, Sakhil and team!

This private collection of different cultural items from India is just amazing, collected with exquisite taste. The architecture of the museum is really beautiful, modern and simple, designed for the collection to give the best impression of it. We had also pleasure to meet the son of collector and have nice lunch in the garden.

We were attended by Mr Rohit on our visit to this art haven. Rohit was kind enough to show us around the entire gallery comprising of 6 floors, housing different styles and subjects of paintings. I'll stress here by saying that this is by far the most comprehensive art gallery I have ever been to. They have a massive-massive collection of paintings of all kinds like traditional Indian, Spiritual, Modern, vintage, watercolour, acrylic, sketches etc. You name it, they have it. They have paintings and prints within all budgets. I, personally loved the luxe section which displayed one of a kind paintings and also the Pichwai section is the most intriguing one as it housed a colossal collection of Pichwais. This is a must-visit place if you are an ardent art lover, and in case you aren't, you definitely will leave the gallery turning into one !!! Apart from holding masterpieces, which one would love to acquire for their homes, they also house a wide variety of paintings and prints that can be gifted too...Be rest assured about their authenticity, quality and services. Glad that the owner was keen and enthusiastically answering all our questions and educating us about various art forms all throughout our time there. A must-visit for those who wish to acquire something that would last them a lifetime and beyond.

We wandered into this tiny place almost by accident - it has a very unassuming front - and were not really expecting a lot for the twenty rupees donation. We were therefore surprised and delighted by the number of beautifully carved and decorated statues inside. The owner came to speak to us (we were actually a high school group not a family but there isn’t an option for that on Tripadvisor) and we got a full tour. I kept expecting it to be a scam but although there was a clothing store and jewellery shop on the premises, there was no attempt at any form of sales pitch. Well worth a look if you’re passing.

This interesting museum is in the middle of quaint Mandawa and worth a visit to have some glimpse of the region’s history with displays of dress, turbans, discussion of the various class systems and their dress habits plus formal wear on special occasions. Our group had a very knowledgeable guide who explained the various displays and history of the area. A lovely old building now made into the museum and worth the entry fee and guided tour, perhaps allow at least 90 minutes here.
