Embark on a journey to the heartland of Australia through an all new show featuring a transformative arena, mesmerising animals and immersive technology. Delve into the real-life struggles Aussie farmers face and rejoice with them as the community's courage, bravery and generosity help them overcome a stunning, yet unforgiving life on the land. Australian Outback Spectacular’s Heartland promises an unforgettable night out with a three course dinner and drinks.
The show is meant to showcase Aussie bush skills especially working with stock and this certainly is achieved. Horses are ridden beautifully and dogs round up cattle and we see some exceptional riding skills. As well Australia’s history and climate are showcased in a corny story but it appeals to all especially the Japanese school students at our show. There’s humour and you-beaut-utes and even a song or two. Before the show patrons can be photographed (but it’s pricey) and view the horses and the clever dogs. It’s well organised and patrons find their seats easily with the help of lots of polished staff. The three course meal is good value and the excellent service means meals are hot, drinks are plentiful and the special effects ensure everyone is entertained. The addition of a hat for all makes this a memorable evening,

Mount Isa Mines Rodeo is the largest rodeo in the southern hemisphere. Staged on the second weekend of August annually, this event is on many cowboy and cowgirl's bucket list. The first Isa Rodeo was staged back in 1959. Called the Centenary Rodeo it comprised a rodeo competition including bullock riding, a wild steer race and open buckjumping championship. Back then it took weeks to walk the bucking horses in from Carandotta Station on the QLD-Northern Territory border to the old rodeo yards in Mount Isa at Kalkadoon Park. With a prize pool of 500 pounds on offer, the rodeo grew a mystique of its own. The rodeo organising committee’s vision was simple…..to “think big” and raise funds for much needed charities and put the new, remote town of Mount Isa on the map. Now labelled as one of the most iconic events in the country, it attracts over 30,000 attendees and competitors from all over Australia and the world and has gifted over $4.8m to charity in the north/west region of Qld.
A very well run event which caters for all ages and abilities. Thoroughly enjoyed the week with something to do every day. Friendly people. Fantastic. Returning for sure.

We went in august, just after the camel races, much quieter. Firstly, it's wheelchair accessible & there's accessible angle parking directly outside the building. You'll need help entering the front doors as the push/pull doors are not easy to manage independently. The show itself is totally accessible. There is a lot of low lighting effects within the show area, which might be a problem for people with low vision impairments. But the show itself is amazing & very believable; show is expensive but if you're splurging on holidays, it's worth doing. plus lots of souvenirs available. Facilities are air-conditioned. There's wheelchair accessible toilets, modern & kept very clean & tidy. Staff are very helpful, friendly & full of helpful, handy & local & touristy information. They were great.
