Queenscliff Gallery

Queenscliff Gallery (QG), exhibits the artwork of Australian artists with a focus on original prints and works on paper. QG is housed in an 1868 Wesleyan church located on the Bellarine Peninsula and also offers editioning and publishing services.

A beautiful old church thats now a gallery. There are pieces from local and other well known print artists. We've bought several pieces for our home and only wish we had enough walls to hang more. The owners are lovely and knowledgeable people who run workshops as well as being printmakers themselves (have a look at the delightful Queenscliff series). They recently had an amazing exhibition of works by Sir Arthur Streeton. We just love this place and call in whenever we are in the area. We highly recommend it as a place to visit and to buy from.

Established in an era when the Colony of Victoria was largely responsible for its own defence, the fort depicts the strategies that were deployed in this pre federation era, right through to the end of World War II. The tour lasts about 1.5 hours and is well worth the time for anyone visiting Queenscliff.

Queenscliffe Maritime Museum

Discover the fascinating maritime heritage of Queenscliffe with a visit to this regional maritime museum, perched near the entrance to Port Phillip and its notorious 'Rip'. From the arrival of the early sailing ships more than 200 years ago, this picturesque coastal town has been shaped by boating activities and the maritime industries which have developed. From shipwrecks to heroic rescues, early fishermen and boat builders, light keepers and their technologies, sea pilots and divers, there are plenty of stories to discover. The last of the Queenscliff Lifeboats is the centrepiece of the museum. Even today, the museum sits adjacent to Queenscliff Harbour with its boating marina, and within walking distance of the Searoad Ferries. Guided museum group tours, and Point Lonsdale Lighthouse tours (conditions apply), are available by prior arrangement. Nautical gift shop available.

Great little museum, and the staff were very helpful and informative. There are also discounts which apply for students and those over 60. It also has a small gift shop. A great place to visit on your way from the ferry to the town.
