Located on Ile Notre-Dame, the 4.361 km-long Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve hosts the Grand Prix du Canada, as well as biking, in-line skating, jogging and walking enthusiasts! PARTIAL CLOSURE The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will be partially closed to cyclists, pedestrians and inline skates enthusiasts from May 15 to September 4, 2017 due to the mounting, the hosting and demounting of major events, to maintenance work done on the circuit in preparation for the Grand Prix du Canada, and to the STM bus circuit to Jean-Dore beach. This partial closure means two things: • The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will be accessible to cyclists, pedestrians and inline skates enthusiasts for only 43 non consecutive days this summer, from May 15 to September 4, 2017. Visite the Parc Jean-Drapeau website for the detailed schedule. • A portion of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the "Hairpin" area, will be inaccessible at all time time from May 15 to September 4, 2017.
Firstly, great idea by them to have a 30kph speed limit with the threat of fines, because there's no way without that in place I wasn't heading into that last chicane and seeing just how close I could get my Corolla to the Wall of Champions. Maybe I'm just that much of a nerd, but a free trip around an F1 track. Thanks!

These 275-foot falls on the Montmorency River tower higher than even the legendary Niagara Falls. The 2013 season promises to be exhilarating for people who will visit Parc de la Chute-Montmorency – Montmorency Falls, the second most visited site of the provincial capital after Old Quebec. The highlight of all the new summer activities is certainly the opening of two via ferrata routes built in the Boischatel fault near the waterfalls. Via ferrata – this is Italian for “iron roads” - is an activity accessible to everyone over 12 years old that combines hiking and rock climbing. The two paths are built on the rock face on the eastern side of the waterfall. The less adventurous will also be able to get stunning views of the 83-meter high waterfall aboard the cable car which now runs with sparkling new cabins. History buffs will be glad to know that guided tours are now offered each weekend in the company of Sir Frederick Haldimand, who served as Governor of Quebec from 1778 to 1786 and Mathilde Robin, best known as the Lady in White, who lost her fiance during the Montmorency Battle in 1759. Guided tours are offered in French or English until Labour Day weekend.
Our small group of 3 drove out from downtown using gps as recommended by staff at our hotel. We were told the falls were as high as Niagra Falls on the Canada-US border, but did not realize there was so much to do at the site. It has an excellent restaurant, walking bridge, zip-line across the falls, parks, tram and you can even walk so close to the falls that you can see rainbows from the spray and get soaking wet. Only one of the group rode across on the zip-line. She says it was great but just over too soon. Although it looks dangerous my daughter said it was very safe and even gives you a free video of your crossing in you have an iphone with you. All of us enjoyed the tram down into the vally where you can walk so close to the falls. Take your group photos from the bottom of the falls and you get great shots of the falls in the background. It was magnificient!!

An exciting high-speed toboggan ride along a slick ice tube.
My wife and I had this on our agenda to try during our visit to Quebec City. We first did this ride on Friday, January 24th at about 4:00pm after hiking in Jacques Cartier parc and visiting the Ice Hotel during the day. There was no line at this time of day maybe because it was near closing and there was a chilly wind at the time. The cost is only $6.00 for 2 people which we thought was reasonable. You buy tickets at a well marked kiosk at the bottom of the slide. You need to pull your sled up the hill which is a small challenge but nothing that should discourage you from wanting to do this ride. After handing your ride tickets to the attendant at the top, they place your sled in position and inform you how to remain seated on the sled. Then they release you. You get going quite fast which we found very enjoyable. We liked this ride so much we went back about the same time the next day to do again. The view from the top of the slide is very nice as well since you can view the river.

During a trip to Quebec City, an amazing day out at the Canyon Sainte-Anne's gorge with its imposing waterfall and 3 suspension bridges is a must-do family attraction. Get into a spectacular and vertiginous canyon. Listen to the roaring of the majestic Sainte-Anne falls (74m high) between its narrow 1.2-Billion-year-old rocky cliffs. Vibrate while walking across our 3 suspension bridge. One is 60m (243') high over the gorge!Discover Giant potholes and cascades in the Mini-Canyon, along with the challenging Stone Stories Treasure Hunt with all family members. Be thrilled by our 3 vias ferratas and our 2 giant zip lines.Canyon Ste-Anne is well located, only 30 minutes from Quebec City, towards the Montmorency falls, and only 5 minutes from the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre Shrine and the Mont Sainte-Anne ski resort. The entrance is situated directly on Route 138 East, towards Charlevoix, the Le Massif ski resort, and the whale watching cruise area.
A bit pricey to get in, at $14.50, but the scenery (waterfalls and fall colours) is amazing. Would be nice if there were more trails to hike.

Tremblant is fabulous! The pedestrian village is beautiful and the two other Tremblant villages are next door and have great restaurants. The skiing is fantastic for all levels, there are green trails to double blacks from the top. Even during school vacation week, there were no lift lines. There are many other activities, too. There is an indoor waterpark and spa onsite. There is also an activity center that will hook you up with a variety of excursions. We did a dog sled tour and drove snow buggies. It was fantastic! If you go, bring a lot of layers. Actually, bring ALL YOUR WINTER CLOTHES. It is freezing! If you live in the US northeast, drive the extra few hours to Tremblant. It is worth it.

There are many things to do in the park, but we only hiked. And for hiking, there are many different choices, with some truly great scenes/views. Best is to visit the websites (SEPAQ) and get their 'Discovery Magazine/Guide' (.pdf) to learn about the trails. - For sure some simple hikes and some more aggressive ones. Good facilities for your comfort, but note that you need to get an access pass, on line, in advance ($7.50 + taxes per person). - Worth it. Drive is about 40-45 minutes from La Malbaie

Mont-Sainte-Anne is an ideal year-round destination. Located only 30 minutes away beautiful Quebec City, the ski slopes rise up from the shores of the mighty and massive St Lawrence seaway giving spectacular views. This great resort boasts incredible snow conditions and proudly displays an impressive trail network. It also becomes a complete outdoors activity destination once summer comes; lodging in nature, hiking, gondola rides, mountain biking, camping, golf, canyoning, paragliding and more.
Beautiful ski resort 45 minutes drive from old Quebec. Nice facility and not too crowded. We stayed 3 days at the Chalet, literally few steps from the Gondola. There is also shuttle bus from day skiers from Old Quebec. For an extra $10 you can ski until 9pm. Highly recomanded
