This is certainly a beautiful church worthy of exploring. You definitely get a feel that it was meant to be a bit bigger, but, it has a lot of amazing art in every nook and cranny. One really interesting item is an apparent crypt cemented in by a covering with four skull and crossbones figures - one on each corner. Being close to the sea, it makes you wonder...

Fort Liberia is one of the Vauban Fortress located in the upper part of Villefranche-de-Conflent, in Conflent Region, in the South of France. It was built after Pyrenees Treaty (17th Century). Nowadays you can visit this fortress. In fact, you go up with a 4*4 (or by walk) and you can go down by 4*4 again or go down the stairs. My 4 years old daughter and I tried this last option and it was very funny. In the fortress, you can go up to the ramparts and see wonderful views of the town and mountains. Great! also, it is possible learn about the life in this place during the last centuries. Very interesting. Sixteenth century fortress built by Emperor Charles V. Museum - Arsenal Renaissance. Unique perspective.
We saw this Fort above our apartment every day and just had to walk uphill on a safe path to see inside. Surprised to see a road on the other side right up to the door! But we enjoyed the walk. Lots of suits of armour and weapons to see and marvellous views. Just do it!

It may sound like a museum that is primarily photographs would be boring, but it is definitely not. Partly it’s because the story it tells of the exodus from Spain as the civil war drew to a close is fascinating and unknown to most of us, but also because the pictures have been well chosen, well displayed and organized, and not too many. Enough of the mansion itself remains to add an additional layer of interest (check out the detailing on the stair banister.)

Created in 1942, Sant Vicens is a unique place of ceramic creation. In the park of the farmhouse, the exhibition-sale changes with the seasons and the creators. Do not miss the guided tour, free, every Thursday at 17h, with the history of the place (through the Bauby family, Jean Lurcat, Picasso ...), the visit of the cellar converted into a historical space, and the discovery of the workshop.
