Mnemba Island is an atoll set just off the northeast coast near Matemwe. Snorkling at Mnemba is stunning, on the inside it’s like being in a giant aquarium and the outside offers excellent wall and drift dives. The island itself is a breeding ground for turtles and they are often seen gliding by along with dolphins, huge groups of fish, whale sharks and humpbacks when in season. Mnemba provides the snorkeler with the opportunity to view the best fish the Indian Ocean has to offer. We regularly see Dolphins on this trip. This is a private island and cannot be entered by everybody. During the excursion you are served with fruit

Strolling through Bagamoyo’s narrow, unpaved streets takes you back to the mid-19th century, when the town was one of the most important settlements along the East African coast and the terminus of the trade caravan route linking Lake Tanganyika with the sea. Slaves, ivory, salt and copra were unloaded here before being shipped to Zanzibar Island and elsewhere, and many European explorers, including Richard Burton, Henry Morton Stanley and David Livingstone, began and ended their trips here. In 1868 French missionaries established Freedom Village at Bagamoyo as a shelter for ransomed slaves, and for the remainder of the century the town served as a way station for missionaries travelling from Zanzibar Island to the interior.

We went on a one night two days safari with this company and it was so magical. We got to see so many animals, thanks to our amazing guide, Mariam. Mariam was so full of energy and on a good mood all the time, it was such a pleasure to spend those two days with her. We also had the opportunity to spend some time with Silas, our driver who is also a guide, and he was also so nice and knew everything about the park and the animals. We highly recommend the night game drive which is a complete different atmosphere from the day one and which allowed us to see more animals. Edward, the owner, was so helpful and very responsive via WhatsApp. We never got a problem with organising the trip, even from far away, he helped us book our ferry tickets to Zanzibar and arranged everything from and to Dar es Salaam. This was an incredible experience that we will never forget !! Especially because of the lions that we saw !! Thank you again, Étienne and Chloe

I had a really great trip to Mikumi National Park with Halifa. He’s a very friendly guide and taught me a lot about the animals and the nature of Tanzania. He knew where all the different animals were and showed me around the park. We saw a lot of elephants, giraffes, impalas, zebras, wildebeasts, buffalos, hippos and even a pack of lions! I would definitely recommend going on a game drive with Tail Spotter Safari! It was an experience I’ll never forget.
