The stops are very scenic but tend to be crowded even with the regulations on the number of passes that are handed out each day. to access some of the sits you have to walk over submerged rocks that are very slippery. While it will be difficult to avoid all of the scrapes good water shoes will help to reduce them.

Our trip started with a cancellation and then a no show which added to the journey time. Once out of Cebu City the roads are terrible so it was a very uncomfortable 2 hours. We arrived to chaos and frankly given how crowded you are on the boat as well in the water, it is simply not worth it. Too many people in the water vying for their video or picture. The Whale Sharks were delightful but only for a half hour. The waterfall was the same, crowded and uninspiring. The trip back took 5 hours as traffic was awful. I don't recommend this at all. I know people have to make money and they are all very nice but it simply isn't worth it.

The driver/guide should have at least a rudimentary knowledge of the places visited. As it was billed as a "City Tour" some information about Purto Princesa would have been nice. To be periodically informed of ones location during the tour would have also been helpful. Other than the Cathedral and the US Marines Massacre Site all other places were for private enterprises such as horse riding/ zipline ride, bakery etc. I accept Palawan is developing its Tourist Industry but needs to do better than the take it or leave it attitude one meets as standard here.

The private transfer from the hotel arrived on time. The van was clean and the driver was polite, Our guide was also very entertaining and helpful. It was convenient and we did appreciate the fact that we had the whole van for ourselves. On the way to the Underground River, we dropped by Buenavista view deck which had a lovely panoramic view of Ulugan Bay. We also had a private boat transfer from the port to the Underground River National Park where we joined other tourists for the 45-min paddle boat ride to the Underground River. The guided paddle boat takes you across the underground river. For around 45 minutes, you get to explore the deep, vast & dark cave, and witness unique rock formations. From stalagmites and stalactites shaped in different unique and entertaining forms- it was indeed an experience. The tour included an expert (and hilarious) guide who navigated us inside plus an audio guide (you can choose in different languages). This tour is a must for a Palawan trip.
