This was a well done museum tour walk thru with guide (for free- but tip at the end). Our guide was very nice and spoke well in English. She had only been working there a few months but seemed interested in what she was teaching us. The exhbits are small and it is a quick tour but completely important when traveling in the DR to understand the important of General Luperon. It was clean, air conditioned, and inexpensive. Do it!

Interesting fort on the edge of town. Locals have tables setup close to sell souvenirs. There are also donkey photos available with several locals. They offer guided tours of the fort and self walk tours.

Puerto Plata's Malecon is beautiful and easily accessible. You can walk along the ocean line, sit for a while, and/or visit the stores and restaurants along the way. Loved the Neptune statue on one of the rocks.
