What to do and see in Provincetown, Massachusetts (MA): The Best Bars & Clubs

February 9, 2022 Etsuko Causey

Visit Provincetown and have a blast enjoying some of Cape Cod’s best beaches (Race Point Beach and Herring Cove Beach are favorites of TripAdvisor travelers). Plenty of cool boutiques, restaurants and art galleries give this town a fun and funky vibe. It’s an exceptionally LGBT-friendly destination as well. One tip: if it’s high season, take the ferry or a quick flight from Boston (unless you enjoy spending hours sitting in traffic).

Shipwreck Lounge @ Brass Key Guesthouse

My husband and I had a great time at the lounge. The vibe and decor are cool. The staff was incredibly friendly and fun. Our drinks were very tasty. I read another review saying that the drinks were overpriced, but the prices were in line with other bar/restaurants in the area. Would highly recommend the Buffalo chicken meatballs. It is slightly off of the beaten path, but well worth a few extra steps. We plan to revisit this fall for a stay. The guesthouse looks incredible! One note that this is not a destination for families. Kids in an adult themed lounge just doesn't work. A special thanks David for being so welcoming.

Had a great lunch today, sat outside, enjoyed people watching and amazing food/cocktails. Got several small plates to share. Pork tacos, deviled eggs, guacamole- all outstanding 10/10! Great service. Had a yummy cocktail but recall name ...some sort of Malibu rum with juices- omg loved it. The host was so funny and informative with covid info. Great experience for day 1 of girls vacation in Ptown :)

$10 cover was annoying, and no card accepted, but this place was quick to pour a strong drink and fun dance tunes. This place is always full.

Governor Bradford

The Governor Bradford is one of the hearty P-town institutions that stays open all year long.

I have been a seasonal and for 11 years, a resident of the Cape, and patron of Provincetown. However, this was my first visit to the Governor Bradford Inn for breakfast! My husband and I went there on two early mornings during our long weekend. First if all, you had to sign in for COVID-19 tracing, and the staff disinfected our hands with a spray bottle of hand sanitizer before seating us in the outdoor patio. The first day, I had eggs over easy with linguica, home fries, toast and coffee. My husband has a short stack and coffee. The second day I had the same eggs, but this time with bacon and a delicious Bloody Mary. My husband had a larger order of pancakes and a Bloody Mary as well. The service was flawless and the cook nailed the eggs and pancakes each time! The patio was shady, with a covering of grape vines and umbrellas at every socially distanced table. The pets were even pampered, as they were given water dishes at the tables. My only pet peeve, was the dogs barking and pet owners not controlling their pets. Otherwise, it was a cool and peaceful refuge for breakfast on a very hot morning in P-town.
