We will drive to Valpolicella, located about 30 minutes west of Verona, starting with a short visit to a small village comprised of stone houses. With a visit to a local winery, we will learn the intricate process of winemaking from viticulture to harvest, from vineyards to vilification, from aroma to fragrance, color, and taste. Lunch in a local Trattoria. Afternoon olive oil frantoio visit with tasting, or a secon winery or a cheese tasting.

A friend and I decided to explore more beyond Venice and signed up for an all-day Valpolicella wine and olive oil tasting tour with Bella at Venice Countryside. Bella was a great communicator before the tour, answering all of my questions promptly via email. On tour day, she and our driver Frederico picked us up at Piazzale Roma - and Bella had to come find us because we were lost trying to find them! She was immediately friendly and engaging and put us at ease. As we drove out of town, we chatted and learned about the areas we were seeing, and they both kindly allowed us to get out and take photos when we could no longer let all of the beauty of the countryside pass us by! Arriving at the vineyard, we were taken on a brief tour of the cellars and had a chance to ask questions about their wine-making process. Next up was the tasting room, and what a wonderful opportunity. Beautiful setting, friendly people, and fantastic wines. All along the spectrum of white to red, each wine was a pleasure to taste. My friend and I are into photography and had a chance to take more photos after the tasting before we headed on to lunch. Lunch was at a wonderful restaurant set in a small town amidst picturesque views - and the food was as fantastic as the wine. Bella did a great job at making sure the menu met both of our needs (vegetarian and carnivore). From there we headed on to the olive oil mill, where we learned about their process and had a chance to sample some oils. This was another enjoyable stop, with more beautiful views and great oils. When I booked the tour I hadn't realized I was planning quite such a relaxing and fun day. Bella truly made us feel that we were with friends rather than on tour. On the way back to Venice she provided us with some recommendations on restaurants and off-the-beaten path places to seek out in the city. This excursion was the highlight of my trip. On Piazza di Santa Maria, this very nice papal basilica has a lot of treasures ; it's a museum to visit with a guide or alone; the first crib, a scuptured work in white marble and representing the Virgin with the Child, San Joseph and the three Wise Men and also the donkey and ox; it's the first crib created by the artist named Arnolfo di Cambio from pape Nicolo V; (Hommage to San Nicolas today) visit also the archaelogical excavations, la sala di Papi and scala di Bernini.

had small group vacation planned for last October. cancelled due to Covid. Was offered voucher or refund. told them we needed refund due to not knowing if we would be travelling within a year. was told they would refund our money. Still waiting on a refund of 2084 and 1500 Euros.. that was over 7 months ago when it was cancelled. numerous emails. most of the time no response. Was promised refund when the person handling our group returned to work. nothing yet... Was really looking forward to a great vacation.

We had to cancel our trip to Italy and asked to Fiorella to organise for us another experience in Venice. She was our guide two years ago and was so nice to do a virtual tour from home just for us. She took a lot pictures of canaregio and the Jewish Ghetto and gave us a plenty of information. We really appreciate it! We were so glad to meet Fiorella again and talk a lot about Venice and Italy! Guide and water transportation picked us up at our hotel on time. Guide was very friendly - knowledgeable and accommodating. The glass experience was incredible - the artist made several pieces in front of us. Opportunity to view and purchase pieces. The family at the glass shoppe was superb - they even made a couple of special requests for us while we waited and watched. Guide then took us to a lunch spot she recommended - walked us to the spot and introduced us to the owners who treated us like royalty - with no reservation on a packed day. All in all - a great time for my family

My wife and really enjoyed our trip to Iceland—and we GREATLY appreciate the incredible amount of effort that went into planning our trip. We are both vaccinated, but didn't know what to expect. Traveling itself was easier then we imagined. Firebird team helped us arrange PCR tests for arrival/departure, and shared all requirements that Iceland has for indoor outdoor mask requirements. Basically you need to wear mask inside in all public places, and should be wearing it outside, but most people usually don't have it on. Our guide and drivers always were wearing mask and had extra masks and cleaning solutions with them at all times, which we appreciate. We plan to use Firebird again in the near future. Thank you very much for everthing!

Only 7 people and the tour was by Van. The driver guided us during the drive but no guide joined us at our stop in Castellina. Professional presentations at the wineries. Especially at Poggio Amorreli with Andrea where we were treated with Spumante, one white and two red Chianti and one supertuscan. We also got bread, cheese, salami with their own balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The driver called for a taxi upon arrival in Florence ????

I booked a tour with these folks over the Christmas and New Year's holiday. As an avid photographer, my goal was to capture some of the more out of the way places in Venice, and to do it at night. Mark & Carla were wonderful guides, walking me around the city exploring dark corners, telling stories, and negotiating with locals to let us into areas that we generally wouldn't be able to see or even know about. They also provided, at the end of our walk, a map of the areas we explored, as well as information about other places and sights that I might be interested in exploring on my own. All in all, a great experience. These people take the time to do it right. Never felt rushed or intimidated or bound to a schedule or path.
