Located on a vast plain just off the SS131, this is the most elaborate and detailed of the many in Sardinia. There is no guide but there is an app that gives detailed descriptions of numbered locations with in the site. You are allowed to wander freely throughout the site even climbing the interior stone stairs to the top of the tower for sweeping 180 degree views of the surrounding countryside.

The altar which is probably as old as the Egyptian pyramids is one of the greatest tourist attractions of the island. Located on the outskirts of Sassari it allows to move back in time to prehistoric times. The altar has been renovated in modern times so you don't to stretch your imagination to see what it looked like millenia ago. An unforgettable experience.
