This is the main museum in the city of Pontevedra. Located in the heart of the Old Town it displays the golden celtic treasure of Caldas de Reis as well as the ship chamber of Mendez Nunez. A must see in Pontevedra. Travel guides available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and English.

We really enjoyed this museum with was incredibly large and first-rate! Although the section of the museum with Picasso, Miró and Dalí paintings was closed to prepare for a new exhibit, there was plenty of other beautiful work to admire. A piece entitled “Baile en Palacio” by Alejandro Ferrant Fischermans (1915) was a particular favorite of mine. There are also numerous great restaurants nearby to go to either before or after your visit.
