My wife and I have visited Vigo on a number of occasions and finally managed to visit the Cies Islands this summer and we are glad we did. The boat trip there is fantastic but when you reach the islands you are in for an even bigger treat. Lovely beaches, great walks and views from the cliff tops and also feeling very close to nature and the power of the sea as the Atlantic Ocean crashes into the islands on the west coast. Our only mistake was that we did book a later ferry for our return journey and we would have liked to stay longer and explore the islands further.

Built in 1778, its location is such that it is externally one of the most impressive churches in Pontevedra, facing onto the Pza da Peregrina. A stopping point for pilgrims who were having their documents stamped here, the church plan is in the shape of a scallop shell and the shells are incorporated into much of the decoration. Otherwise, compared to some of the other churches, the decoration is quite restrained, with your eyes drawn upwards into the dome, and thence to heaven.

Just short bus ride from city centre you can find long stretch of unspoilt beach, well catered for all tastes with several bars, restaurants, kiosks, kids pools, picnic areas, for a perfect day at the beach, which locals and tourists seem to know all too well

The castro is located near the top of a mountain. It is an excellent example of an old celtc settlement and the views from the top of the mountain were great, including a view of A Guarda.

My mom and I did the tour during a weekday when they opened for the day. We were the only two on our tour. Our guide was amazing, she kept my attention for the whole tour and was really personable and friendly. I think we went over the allotted time because the tour was so good. This was also the first wine tasting where I felt like I was understanding how to apply my senses to the tasting, because again, our guide was that good. The views are amazing, the wine is great. You can get their Albarino in the states. Take me back, please.
