Fattoria Betti

Wine Tasting at Fattoria Betti EVERY FRIDAY: tour of the vineyards, visit to the cellar, wine tasting and small buffet. The cellar was founded at the beginning of 1900 in Montalbano, a small territory in the Tuscany region that holds, still intact, all the noble characters of these ancient lands: romantic parish churches and small medieval villages with their towers, extended olive groves and vineyards, dotted by solitary cypresses, elegant and magnificent Medici villas close to laborious farmlands, in the waft of Leonardo da Vinci discrete genius. The vineyards of Fattoria Betti are grown on clay soil, located 150-200 metres above sea level. Mostly the vineyards are planted to Sangiovese, Cabernet, Trebbiano, Canaiolo Nero and Merlot. They are cultivated using the cordon and the Tuscan single-arched cane systems, and processed through partial grassing and organic fertilizers. Once optimum ripeness is achieved, all grapes are hand harvested and meticulously sorted. Our wines are the result of a deep passion and pride for our splendid territory. We combine modern technologies with the ancient art of winemaking, taking particular care to express regional fruit characteristics with the subtle use of oak. OUR AIM IS STRAIGHTFORWARD: To produce a limited number of bottles applying the greatest possible care and constantly improving, year by year.

Parco Puccini

"Parco Puccini" is the name of a historic park in Pistoia, which is very likely the most beautiful and historically important of the town. It was realized in the artistic period of Romanticism, perfectly respecting the contemporary ideas, by Niccolò Puccini, a nobleman from Pistoia, in the first half of the nineteenth century. After his death the park was divided into many properties, most of which are small except for two of them that are very well conserved and picturesque: one that is town property and one that is ours. Our park is 15 hectars in extension, dissemitated with numerous monuments and three buildings: "Villa La Fortezza", "The Pantheon of illustrious men" and "The Romitorio". It is available for guided tours, wedding celebrations, corporate meetings and many others, but above all for cultural events.

Ponte Sospeso di San Marcello Pistoiese

Reviewed By Ina_Vandewijer - Zonhoven, Belgium

We were hiking from San Marcello Piteglio over the Ponte di Castruccio along the river to get to the ponte sospeso. It is an impressive hike where you can encounter snakes, foxes and other little animals if you are a bit quiet. The bridge was temporarily closed for repairs, but we had to cross it to get back to our starting point. So it was exciting couse we didn't know what to expect. But we made it safe and sound!
