The visual and tactile experience consists in the artwork MARIA, the enlarged TAU to be touched and embraced as well as the encounter with the Face of Christ available -upon request only- to be touched (not seen) in a hidden part of the churchnof Santa Maria delle Rose.

In the late 1950's, Mario Sambuco founded the Sambuco company. His goal is to conserve and protect this tradition by producing pieces in a wide variety of shapes and decorations, inspired by models and designs from Deruta's historic ceramic-making tradition. He also wanted his pieces to express a sense of modernity, to reflect contemporary tastes. Sambuco Ceramiche developped its own project called 'Discover the fascinating art of ceramics' with the goal to valorize and promote the ancient tradition of handmade pottery in Deruta. The staff of Sambuco Mario organize guided visits to its workshop offering an extensive description of all phases of the manufacture of pottery, from the creation of models to the exit of the artistic ceramics from the kiln. Also, we organise ceramic and fresco courses for tourists at the Sambuco workshop, customized by number of participants, duration, etc.
