Acetaia del Cristo Societa Agricola s.s.

At the Acetaia del Cristo since 4 generations we are working in order to pass on the cultural heritage and charm of TRADITIONAL BALSAMIC VINEGAR of MODENA, which in the past was restricted to family use and closely guarded in the attics of our forefathers. To date, we can still claim we are the most important world producer of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, thanks to 2000 casks exclusively used to produce Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PDO (Protected Designation of Origin). It is us personally, along with our families, who carry out every single step in full compliance with the most ancient traditions and the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) regulations: from cultivating our organically farmed grapes, to vintage, must cooking and the delicate drawing, decanting and topping-up operations.

Folicello

Folicello is the name of our organic farm which relies entirely on the naturalness of its product, with sincere passion for the genuineness and the environment. The refusal of chemicals, both in the cultivation that in wine-making, involves a repertoire of alternative strategies that recovers the traditional methods, but also exploits the good steps of the research that provides natural products and innovative techniques. The characteristics of the organic farmer are therefore a rigorous professionalism and the loving care for its products. During these years of passions, several projects are born, some already implemented, like our Grape Juice with important nutritional values, our wines without sulfites including the first sparkling white wine Pignoletto without sulfites, and others still to be realized. We hope to have the pleasure to know you and let you taste our products... Antonella and Marco

Sophia is amazing!!!! We contacted her 6 days before visiting Modena. We had originally booked a Pagani factory tour for the morning and a Maserati factory tour for the afternoon. The Maserati factory tour was cancelled by Maserati last minute so we had time available in our plan. We reached out to Sophia and asked if she could plan out a private tour for us around our Pagani factory tour timeslot. I told her that we would like to see Balsamic Vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese factory, ham, Lambrusco Wine and lunch if we can fit it all in. She did her magic and contacted Pagani to pull some strings to rearranged our factory tour time to fit everything in. On the day of the private tour, Thomas, our friendly driver, welcomed us at the train station in Castelfranco. We drove to Acetaia Malagoli Daniele where we met Angelica, Sophia and Sophia's lovely parents. We learned all about balsamic vinegar and got a chance to do a tasting. It was so moving to hear about the history and see the proud that they have for their "black gold". Our next stop was a local Parmigiano Reggiano cheese factory. We had a chance to walk through the factory and see each part of the process. We met the owner of the factory, Terry who was a super sweet lady. And then we try out the cheese ... it was delicious. Our 3rd stop was a private visit at the Stanguellini Museum. We had the museum to ourselves ... my husband was in heaven. The museum manager walked us through the history of the Stanguellini family, their passion for racing and cars, the development of their designs. The private collection of race cars and luxury cars was insane. Our next stop was lunch at Trattoria Bianca in Modena. Sophia picked it for us and it was fantastic. Great food, great wine, great service. After lunch, we visited Pagani for their showroom and factory tour. Amazing tour!!! Last stop was the ham museum (MuSa-Museo della salumeria) for a private guided tour and tasting. It was a small museum but very interested. Thomas drove us back to our hotel in Modena from the ham museum. All in all ... the 2 of us had an amazing day!!! Sophia and Angelica were fantastic hosts and Thomas was an awesome driver who waited for us at every stop. BRAVO to Sophia and her team!!!

Let’s start with our guide Stefania that was amazing, pleasant and knowledgeable and gave us such a good vibe that made the whole visit really worth it. (Costs 15 euro). This is a family run place so you get to meet the mother that still works there and the son that runs the whole place. They have an interesting array of products from the classical Lambrusco to a champagne like wine. We had a vast tasting and visited also the small balsamic production they have ( though I would go to the near by acetaia which bears the same name and have a much bigger selection) Remember that You have to book your visit Worth it

Poderi Fiorini

Since almost a hundred years the Fiorini family devoted their energies to the development of products of a territory, the province of Modena, which expresses all its richness and its force through the vine that has its roots through the centuries. Our passion for viticulture results in the production of one of the most typical and authentic products of this place: Lambrusco. A fresh, vibrant, immediate and generous wine in terms of aromas and taste. The Fiorini family had decided a long time ago to expand their production into different wines and they have found in Torre dei Nanni, on the hills of Bologna, and in its predominantly silt and clay-rich soil the precise characteristics they knew would help them produce exactly what they wanted: good quality wines. Hence, the company’s choice to acquire the most modern technical tools and the decision to collaborate with a nationally well-known wine maker to ensure a high quality product.

Acetaia Angelo

Our Acetaia A well-rouded family-run businnes, Angelo focuses especially on the production of Balsamic Vinegar and Vignola Cherries. The Acetaia (italian name for balsamic vinegar factory) is entirely made of wood. From its broad mezzanine floor you can see the aging barrels. Be them oak or other wooden casks, here is where the flavour intensifies over the years, before the vinegar is finally bottled. Our boutique of balsamic vinegar is furnished in hospitable and in familiar way with a union of antiques furniture and barriques. we make degustation of our balsamic vinegar for individual but also for groups. We have about fifteen different types of balsamic and they go from the aged dense and creamy ones to the extremely acetic, strong-smelling and also aromatic (ones). All the year we propose also typical products of Modena and Emilia as: salami, Parmesan, Lambrusco wine and other products.

This was a great experience! We called in the morning and arranget for a tour at 11:30, Ricardo the grandson of the family met us there with a smile. We were a group of 6 plus a 1.5 year old baby and enjoyed everything about this farm and family! Ricardo (hope I got the name right) met us there, introduced us to his grandfather who was making jam at the moment (and gave us a taste - just so tasty) then we went on through every floor of the house, hearing about the family history and seeing the entire process of making real Modena balsamic vinegar and of course let us tatse so much! If you are looking for a tour of a family farm who are welcoming and warm people - this is just the place for you we had a wonderful time here and the balsamic is delicous!
