The Lunigiana is an ancient, mystical settlement area, named after the Roman city Luni which was located in Northern Italy, between Liguria and Tuscany. There are about 100 magnificent castles like those in Pontremoli and in Fosdinovo, the Malaspina Castle. Your tour starts from an “agriturismo” in Lunigiana; after a short briefing with your horse riding guide, you’ll make your way into the “Via Francigena”, the ancient route that in medieval times connected Canterbury to Rome, passing through the chestnut forest and oaks and reaching the aristocratic castle of the Malaspina family. The horses are well-trained, fit and a pleasure to ride. After the riding experience you will relax in the typical restaurant of the farmhouse enjoying the specialties of the region. During the summer time, possibility to go for a swim in the pool of the agritourism.

Super responsive, caring, thoughtful service that I worked with on my most recent Italian vacation. From the first email to the last drop off, they were simply the best. A pick up at the very hard to navigate Florence train station--flawlessly executed. An amazing restaurant recommendation on the trip from Florence to Lucca. Courteous, professional, communicative from Florence to Lucca, to La Spezia, to Lucca, to Pisa. Wonderful!

What an amazing day! It started with truffle hunting with Roberto and his two dogs - Ori and Chloe! We learned a lot about truffle hunting and how the dogs are trained. Chloe was 'in training' and it was fun to see how Roberto used both dogs. They found about 12 truffles in all of various sizes! Then we headed to a small family winery where we ate the fruits of our labor!!! We had a 4 course 'absolutely delicious' meal, tasted a lot of great wines, in addition to olive oil and honey! We even bought a bottle of wine to take with us and watched Sylvia add the DOCG label by hand (which are closely tracked by the region)! We had a great tour guide, Paelo, with us the entire day! He picked us us at our farmhouse, was our translator when needed, was very courteous and informative! I would highly recommend this very unique experience! And I would recommend Tuscany Private Tours. They were very easy to communicate with and very responsive!
- Follow in the Master's footsteps as you trace Michelangelo's tracks to the marble quarries of Carrara. Carrara is where he went (250 miles was no small feat then) to hand pick his marble for his Pieta' and from which came the marble for, yes, the David. - Nowhere in the world is like the "Cinque Terre" or "Five Lands", two of which are included in this tour; Vernazza and Manarola. These quaint, colorful seaside towns combine with the blues and greens in nature to create a stunning, scenic palette. Take this all in with both walks around town and a drive down a panoramic road. The entire area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. - Enjoy typical Tuscan cuisine in Colonnata, world renowned home of Lardo di Colonnata, a local delicacy of pork fat aged in marble vats. Contact me to plan your private, customized culinary-sightseeing tour in Tuscany together!
Inclusions: Bottled water, Free Wi-Fi on board, Magazines on board, Driver/guide, Private tour, Round-trip private transfer, Transport by air-conditioned minivan, Transport by private vehicle

We booked a wine tour for half a day only the night before and received the confirmation following morning! The driver picked us up at our place in Siena with a very nice and comfortable car. Our driver was Roberto, who spoke very well English and is a very funny and nice guy! He could answer all our questions on Italian cuisine and culture in a very passionate way. The wineries we visited were as authentic as you could imagine and they let us try all their best wines! We had an amazing afternoon and wished we’d booked for the entire day. Wedriveyou.it is highly recommended by us and make sure you ask for Roberto!
