Ele was just fantastic. She met us at Piazza Navona and took us through some wonderful highlights of Rome. We really enjoyed her descriptions of the sites, the Caravaggios we saw in one of the churches and the coffee we got. She also gave us some great tips on where to shop for gifts and places to eat while we visited Rome. She was fun to talk to and listen to and we're so glad we had a chance to enjoy a personal tour of some of the city's highlights. Thank you Ele! Our original travel date was November 2018 but we loved her so much we wanted to talk about it again.

We called in 'on spec' as it was after 1pm and other wineries were closed. Fortunately this one seems to stay open all day. The lady who chatted to us spoke excellent English and in fact told us that she wanted to get as much practice with her English as possible. She gave us 5 wines to taste, talked to us for nearly an hour, and there was not a charge. The highlight for us, though, was to realise that they had huge steel barrels with red and white wine, for only 3 euros a litre, if you use your own containers. We didn't have a container and were going to use the dog's drinking bottles. However the lady took pity on him and found us a plastic bottle for our purchase. Looking forward to some good quality, cheap wine!

It starts with a scenic drive to the Chiappini Winery. The modern winery was built in 2014 and looks like it is brand new. The tasting room and views are breath-taking. A circular stairway can take you up to the crow's nest that provides views of the vineyard or take the steps downstairs to the state of the art wine making processes. The wine is delicious and they will ship it to you, so you don't have to lug it home, but don't forget to get a few bottles to enjoy while you are on vacation. I highly recommend the Chiappini Winery!

My adult daughter and I visited Bibonna, Italy during Easter weekend and wanted to do visit local wineries. I did not want to drive so that I could enjoy the tastings so we booked a 5 hour tour with Monica. She was FABULOUS!! Monica is a taxi driver, licensed tour guide and sommelier...the perfect combination. We saw the beauty of the region, learned about the history of Tuscany and the importance of wine and olives to the area, and visited two amazing wineries. Monica was flexible and accommodating to make stops for pictures and answer all of our questions. The booking process was easy and she customized the trip to our needs. Monica communicated with me often leading up to our trip and called me when she knew we would be arriving to welcome us to Tuscany. She confirmed the pickup time at our hotel and was there early to ensure we got the most of our day. My daughter and I had an amazing experience and Monica was well balanced in making us feel like we had a friend guiding us, as well as giving us space to share the moments with each other. She has a great relationship with the staff at the wineries and makes sure you get the most out of the experience. She loves her home region and the wines they make and her love of all that is infectious. I would highly recommend any sort of tour of the Tuscan region with Monica, but would encourage you to let her guide you to the more local and out-of-the-way destinations. You will experience what most tourists do not. I plan to return on a trip with my husband and guarantee you we will be calling Monica!

9. Private Walking Tour of Livorno with Guide

Piazza del Municipio, 57123 Livorno LI, Italy Francesca Giordano

Livorno is the port town of Tuscany, where the cruise boats arrive and you could go and visit Florence, Pisa, Lucca but if you decide to stay you could discover a very lively city, born as a welcoming port for foreigner communities thanks to the Medici. We will start at Piazza del Municipio, the dropping point for all the shuttle busses coming from the harbour. With a short walk you will see how open minded was the Medici vision in creating their cities but even the great effort we made to rebuilt our historical memories: for example the Synagogue temple, totally rebuilt after WWII, We will see the Medici Harbour, the Old Fortress and the local fish market, with its atmosphere. Next you will enter the oldest district “La Venezia” with its channels and buildings, named like the real one. The final stops will be via della Madonna, even known as the street of the three churches (Armenian, Greek and catholic) and the local Food Market, where you can taste the local flavors.

Inclusions: visita guidata
