Traveling from Arenal to Monteverde we passed a sign for Waterfall la Piedra. We met Alejandro who offered us a tour of an ancient rock and waterfall located on his family property. The views and waterfall were spectacular! He pointed out many unusual plants and their medicinal uses and gave us a brief history of his family's farm which we found extremely interesting. Bring a camera and hiking shoes. The mosquitoes we liked the least so be sure to wear long pants and bring pest repellant. We spent an amazing time with this engaging young man and this was the highlight of our trip.

Sensoria is one of the best gateaway to a Rainforest in Rincon de la Vieja in Guanacaste. Sensoria is located, as the last farm that neighbors Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. The tour last from 3.5 to 4 hours, walking thru a prestine rainforest, and you can swimming in blue waterfalls and in three thermal pools. You can climb to our Observatory Tree Platform, where, if you conditions allow see the Volcano, the majestic rainforest and lake of Nicaragua. Your senses would be integrated to most beautiful places of Costa Rica's nature. Sensoria is sorounded by Rincon de la Vieja National Park, which was declare World Heritage. because has 3.9% of the wild life of the planet. In Sensoria we would show you with our Ipads, what animals croos Sensoria and the National park, we have eight trap cameras inside the forest. Sensoria has an investigation program with the help o the National Universiy of Costa Rica with its Program "Jaguar". In sensoria yous senses would enjoy the beauty of our jungles. Booked at our resort through Jacamar tours. Pick up at resort early morning for an interesting drive to the attraction (what they call the Costa Rican massage on some bumpy roads for about half the trip). Our Jacamar driver Daniel and Sensoria guide John were both very informative and knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and were very good at spotting wildlife that we would have missed. Blue waterfalls, wet pools and a thermal pool flowing down from Rincon de la Vieja so bring a swim suit. Would suggest being in reasonable shape for the 3 hour hike and a very good bug spray. Nice lunch at the end of the hike.

This was a side escursion we took at the end of our trip, and wish we could have spent more time here. It was recommended by several locals we met in Tamarindo. It was an easy, short hike, sidewinding down to a serene area with a cystal clear pool under the waterfall. There was a ladder to use to get into the water--it felt amazing! Only wish we had more time to spend swimming there under the waterfall. Don't forget to dress to swim! It's an easy hike, but not sure if I would reccomend this for families with small children. The ladder is steep and the rocks can be a little slippery. It would be a great escursion for couples or families with teens.

This was my favorite thing that I have done throughout my two months in Costa Rican! It is so beautiful with 4 gorgeous waterfalls. It is hidden and when we were there, we did not see anyone else! You get to see 4 waterfalls for only $12. It was definitely the best deal that we have had in Costa Rica! Great swimming and views. I highly recommend!

But, it dries up in the dry season. Very dramatic waterfall when the water is rushing through and down it. We were glad to visit it. Folks have drowned in it, though, so don't overlook the water hazards or slippery rocks.

Great for families, with teenagers or small children, great way to spend afternoon (picnic!) at a very reasonable price....very easy to find usine Waze app....just off the highway! There was a gentleman playing carribean style music for tips, which gave the place a magical atmosphere. The water is warm & the bottom is sand...not rocks like in lakes & rivers. Very safe for families & comfortable on the feet. There was a spot on the side in the shade where there was many small fishes that were very fast...which kept my 6yr old busy the whole time trying to catch them! My 4 kids loved this place much better than any expensive zoos/attraction parks. Enoy!
