I wish I would have planned to visit The Gargano Mountains longer. Leonardo, the Taxi 23 driver, was so warm and accommodating that I felt like I had a family member in town. This was my first pilgrimage to Padre Pio’s shrine in San Giovanni Rotondo, and Archangel Michael’s Cave in Monte Sant’ Angelo. Leonardo took my husband and I to a few other sites in Manfredonia and Foggia as well. He was very informative and took the time to help us make arrangements to have our laundry dropped off at the Lavamatik and he kindly took us back that evening to pick up our clean laundry after a long day of site seeing. Leonardo speaks English well, and takes the time to answer questions about the Gargano region. I highly recommend Leonardo Taxi 23 to all Americans traveling on pilgrimage to the Gargano region. My husband and I felt completely safe while traveling with him, and while we were away on other excursions to Loreto and Manopello, he checked on us to make sure we were okay. Now that I know better, instead of buying train tickets ahead of time to Manopello and Loreto, I will call Leonardo and make arrangements to have him take us there. He used to be a driver for tour bus companies and drove all over Italy, so he actually enjoys driving tourists in his van across the country. This was the greatest experience I have had with any Taxi service. Thank you Leonardo for the best trip ever!

We were staying in Rome and wanted to visit three sites - Shrine of Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotundo; Santuario di San Michele (cave) in Sante’ Mont Angelo; and Santuario di Miracolo Eucaristico in Lanciano. After a lot of research, I decided to take the high-speed train from Rome to Foggia and hire Donato to drive us from Foggia to the three sites. I was so happy I chose Donato! The train to Foggia was delayed by 30 minutes but Donato was waiting patiently and informed us that St Michael’s cave closes at 12:30pm, so we had to hurry. He drove quickly but safely, and we made it to the cave before closing time! Then he drove us to Padre Pio’s shrine where we had more than enough time to pay our respects. Finally, he took the coastal road to Lanciano so we could see some beautiful views and even offered to wait 20 minutes to drive us to the bus terminal for our bus ride on back to Rome. If you need a driver, please don’t hesitate to use Donato! He’s very kind, thoughtful, friendly, knowledgeable, and a true professional. He truly had our best interests at heart knowing we only had a limited time for the long day trip and made sure we utilized our travel time with him efficiently. He even called the bus company to ensure we had reservations for the ride back to Rome! Donato is the absolute best of the best driver. Grazie Mille, Donato!
