David 2 Leather Factory

Fine luxury leather and fur made in Italy

Reviewed By MarkNelson1977

My wife and I were looking for a leather shop in Florence during our trip in September, and saw a beautiful coat on display at Dante/David2 Leather. We stopped in, and Mariam and Santo showed us beautiful jackets and coats, and knew sizes correctly just by looking at us. Franco came in while we were trying on different jackets, and offered some of the family wine as we shopped. The wine was delicious, the service impeccable, and the feeling of becoming part of the David2 family was incredible. We purchased three coats that Franco shipped to us so that we didn't have to worry about fitting them in our luggage, and also sent us two bottles of wine. We also reunited with Franco and members of his family at their trunk show in Denver, and had an incredible time enjoying a glass of wine and looking at more coats. Franco brought out a coat that looked and fit like it was custom made for my wife, and she fell in love with it. Needless to say, we bought the coat, and then Franco found two coats that were perfect for me that we purchased as well. I promised to bring them some American craft beer when we saw them, and was happy to be able to share it with them. Franco and one of his daughters enjoyed one of the beers, while I was able to enjoy a glass of the family wine. Franco also gifted me another two bottles of wine which I will enjoy with friends. Thank you Franco and family for the great coats, experience, and wine!!

Took the 9:12am train from Livorno on a Saturday. (Boat was supposed to dock at 9am, but arrived early, so got off and rushed to train station). At train station in Florence, there was a representative with "The Mall" sign who showed us how to get to the bus terminal (across the street). We took the 11am bus to The Mall for €13 roundtrip. Bus was airconditioned with free WiFi - very convenient. The bus drops you off right in front of Gucci and it departs every 30 minutes for Florence. Gucci had a line that took about 15-20 minutes to get in. The store is three levels with shoe, clothing, and purses departments. We bought two pairs of shoes and a pair of pants. Good selection and appeared to have most shoe sizes. Prada is two levels with shoes and purses on the first and clothes on the second. Tried on a lot of shoes, but didn't buy any. Did buy a purse. Valentino had limited selection of shoes. YSL very limited selection of purses (colors I didn't really like) and only small sizes of shoes. There was a line to get in. We ate at the cafe, which had great food. I could have spent more time here, but was worried about getting back to the boat on time, so we left at 3:30pm. I definitely will go back.
