Catedral

Beautiful inside and out, with Indian angels gracing its towers, this cathedral at Plaza San Martin was started in 1577 and took almost 200 years to build.

Really nice cathedral located on the central square. This must have been the original city center when Córdoba was setup 400 years ago

I thought I forgot to take photos during the tour because I was enjoying it. The guide was very informative and the collections were very special. The guide even took us to some rooms exclusive for their tours.

This place is interesting by any standard, but your experience will be totally different if you arrange a guided tour of the premises. We had an amazing guide who gave us in-depth understanding of the politics, economy, history, architecture and art of this place as well as the whole area. You come out so enriched - the tour was supposed to be an hour but lasted two and all was free of charge. If you have time after this visit, do watch the movie "The Mission" with Jeremy Irons and Robert De Niro (1986) - you will have a good understanding of what really happened here during the time of the Jesuits.
