The Province of Caserta (Italian: Provincia di Caserta) is a province in the Campania region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Caserta, situated about 36 kilometres (22 mi) by road north of Naples. The province has an area of 2,651.35 square kilometres (1,023.69 sq mi), and a total population of 924,414 as of 2016. The former Palace of Caserta is located near to the city, a former royal residence which was constructed for the Bourbon kings of Naples. It was the largest palace and one of the largest buildings erected in Europe during the 18th century. In 1997, the palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A guided Tour* farm, breeding and cheese factory includes the following: • Entrance in a farm where wearing appropriate protections for shoes and patches, visitors can watch the bottle-feeding process of young calves. It is possible to visit water buffalos’ pools in green fields. The visitor will be told about water buffalos, life in a farm, the importance of technology in the milking room and how Torre Lupara monitors the whole producing chain from the lands where fodder is grown to herd’s manning until the transformation phase from milk into mozzarella cheese. Visitors will be told about methods and strategies adopted to make the farm eco-compatible and how citizen can contribute – through recycling – to help safe guarding and protecting the land if seen as a resource and fundamental element for life. • Visit to the cheese factory and view the various phases of milk transformation into cheese ( 9.00 – 10.30 am), after 11,00 a.m. you can see the industry with guided visit, but the production could be ended. • At the end of the tour, visitors will receive a colourful and instructive souvenir and they will taste “mozzarella cheese”. Torre Lupara is open throughout the year. We recommend visits from March to October. We also suggest to wear comfortable shoes (visitors will be provided with appropriate shoe-protections).
