An exciting journey surrounded by nature in an underground world to be discovered, accompanied by professional guides who tell its millennial history The visit lasts half an hour and the ticket price is 5 €. Grotta del Trullo has a free parking lot, a rest area for campers and, a large fenced and equipped green park destined to families, children and sportsmen who want to spend some spare time.
We had a private tour of this beautiful cave and our guide spoke excellent English. You go down a dizzying metal spiral staircase under a purpose-built Trullo down to a lovely cave with stalagmites and stalactites. There are minerals of many colours and it is all so close to the surface, unlike our Cheddar caves - you can even see a tree root coming through in search of water.

Beautiful church and highly evocative because of the story behind its dedication to Saint Nicholas, which is very much part of Bari's identity.

We booked the long tour in English and it was perfect. A must see in Puglia and if your legs are able to carry you this far the long tour is definitely worth the 3€ plus compared to the short tour. Our guide was Claudio and he was the best, guiding us with funny stories, a lovely smile and perfect English.

A collection of 1,400 beehive buildings built and lived in by peasants.
Alberobello is a lovely town in Puglia which, while being a World Heritage site preserving Trulli architecture in a theme park like environment, also conveys a sense of vibrant Southern Italian life. Worth adding to your exploration of Puglia even if just for a day visit.

In 2005 a group of speleologues leaded by Mr Michele Parisi, discovers and makes know to people tunnels, cisterns, aqueducts, cells, rocky churches, barns, old furnaces hidden in meanders placed under the city centre. In this suggestive world they discovered great towers and ruins of old city walls. It is very interesting to admire the historical cells of the Ducal Palace (the house in which pope Benedict XIII was born), the cell placed under the seat of Gravina Souterrain.
