I visited these caves 12 years ago and were awestruck but could not share because no photos were allowed to be taken. We visited again in October 2019 and now you may take photos from the second hall onwards without flash. If you are in the area, do not miss it. You can buy tickets online but most tours on the hour are in Italian, Also you need to be at the meeting point half an hour before your tour commences because a shuttle bus takes you from the parking area to the entrance which is about 3 km back. English tours usually forty minutes later i.e. 11:40 but you, need to confirm at the ticket office. You have to go with a guided tour. About 1 km of walkways with some steps.

The Conero Riviera: Central Italy... The Heart of Italy A territory found in the centre from all perspectives. Firstly it is in the centre of the Italy, but also in the centre of the Adriatic coast and the Marche region. This centrality is identified with the heart: a place of emotions, desires and passions. Welcome to the Conero Riviera!
Stunning scenery, beautiful blue sea, one of the best beaches I have ever been to, even though it was extremely crowded in August. Swimming in the sea during the hottest heatwave I have ever witnessed was an absolute delight!

We were introduced to Marche two years ago and just wowed by its beauty and affordability. We went back this year to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and to dig more deeply into it. Parco del Conero, like all of Marche, really is a hidden gem, especially for Americans. Beautiful hiking woods give way to breathtaking vistas. The young guide at tourist information was immensely helpful and enthusiastic.

Starting from the center of Ancona, after a long uphill walk, you can admire this magnificent Romanesque cathedral. The cathedral is located right at the top of a hill overlooking Ancona from which you can see a wonderful view of the sea. Where Greek temples once dominated, Christianity has replaced them with this beautiful cathedral. Definitely worth the visit, try it at sunrise or sunset for sure and very suggestive

The visit to the Paper & Watermark Museum, duration of about 1 hour, consists of a guided tour by guides that speak Italian, English, French, Spanish and German. The program includes a live demonstration of hand-made paper, performed by the Museum's Master paper makers, viewing the antique watermarks from the 13th Century to modern day, and a film on the history of paper in Fabriano. The Museum also provides a furnished bookshop where it is possible to purchase paper products, produced in the Museum's mediaeval paper mill, artistic watermarks (white-shaded), albums, diaries, publications and much more. · It is also possible to make reservations for guided tours of the city that gave birth to Gentile da Fabriano, Palazzo del Podestà, Teatro Gentile, Portico dei Vasari, Oratorio della Carità, etc., and the 'Pinacoteca Molajoli' to the suburbs and various sites of tourist interest (abbeys, museums, archaeological excavations, Frasassi Caves, natural parks, etc.).
A great history of paper making from China 100 BC to Italy 1300’s and up to modern times. It has working machinery from the 18th century, and demonstration of early hand made methods of making paper from rags. There are many exhibits of ancient papers and documents, hundreds of watercolor paintings. It is well worth the visit. You can purchase stationery and envelopes on hand made watermarked paper in the store. The products are beautiful and reasonably priced.
