Starting at the Stade Municipal and using Google Maps you genuinely can’t go wrong. It’s a 30 minutes walk there, the second half down a steep, rocky track. Once at the river it’s breathtaking. The photos here and elsewhere genuinely haven’t been Photoshopped - it really is that beautiful. The walk back is slightly longer and lung bursting if you’re not reasonably fit. But it’s a couple of hours well spent. Don’t forget your camera.

A Roman bridge with a one-arch span, right in the centre of town. Park at the nearby car park (good for photos) to walk over the bridge and explore the area. Then drive over it (unusual for a Roman bridge!) when you're ready to leave. Lots of other Roman sites to visit in the low town, plus a medieval city higher up above the bridge.

The Bridge of the Fairies is an ancient aqueduct that brought water to the village. The river that flows here is "La Garde". This bridge is located in the countryside, on one of the trails offered to stroll in full Grimaudoise flora and fauna.

This emblematic site in the history of Avignon is known throughout the world in the famous song. Built in the 12th century, it was destroyed several times by spates on the Rhone River, before being rebuilt and finally abandoned in the 17th century.
My late Mom use to sing to me as a child the famous French song Sur le pont D'avignon...so here I am some 65 years later singing and dancing myself on this famous bridge

Awe inspiring! Spent a little time walking around and just taking it in. It was very quiet which for such an important part of history was a real treat. It’s a lovely spot to have a picnic and enjoy the history and tranquility ❤️
