Swan Lake Bird Sanctuary

This spot is beautiful! Great place for a walk with the family. There is one picnic table down the path a bit with an amazing view of rolling hills. So peaceful, really pretty. Like a breath of fresh air. We did encounter a few cacti on our pant legs, so watch out for those. Some volunteers were there fixing a fence and putting up some signs to help you identify birds when we were there and you can tell they take a lot of pride in keeping the sanctuary a safe space for people to enjoy.

My nearly 9-year-old spent over an hour at the museum and enjoyed every minute there, learning about local history of First Nations inhabitants and white settlers. Ask for the scavenger hunt, which is more involved than just ticking things off a list, and really got my child engaged with the various outstanding displays.

Bromley Rock Provincial Park

Reviewed By 1965Richard - Surrey, Canada

Great for a day trip if staying in the Similkameen. Nice, sandy beach. Slower flowing river. Deep enough for swimming, or shallow enough for wading. If you are brave enough, there are various heights of cliff jumping from about 3 to about 60 (?) meters. Great place to spend the day with family, as long as it isn’t too crowded.
