Laurissilva Forest

This type of wild and scenic forest landscape is fast becoming a rare sight along the Mediterranean, and Madeira is one of the few places where they still exist.

The laurissilva is a beautiful and mystical part of Madeira. From Ribeiro Frio you can do a really easy (flat) and relaxing levada walk to Balcoes (balcony) that will end at a 'balcony' overlooking the surrounding area. I definitely recommend doing that walk when you are in the neighborhood.

Lagoa das Furnas

Lagoa das Furnas so much to see! You can go to the Lagoon itself and do a walk around, visit the park with information, see the locations on they made the famous cozido, or do a little paddle boat in the lagoon! To visit it's about 2euros so really cheap and for the rest you pay extra. You have a cafe, parking spot and a souvenir shop at the entrance. For this view you have to go to the Miradouro Pico do Ferro (only a few minutes by car)

Mata Nacional dos Sete Montes

Reviewed By jerb2014 - Bristol, United States

This park, one of many beautiful green spaces in the city of Tomar, is exquisite. You can, if you wish, walk all the way up to the Convent on various pathways. If you do go to the park, you walk beneath old and pine trees and are surrounded by terraces, flowers galore, hedges, fountains and urns. A very beautiful and peaceful spot to sit a reflect for minutes, or hours, before setting out to sightsee again. It is certainly one of the most beautiful parks we visited on our trip. There is no admission charge as it is open to the public without charge.

Grena

Grená is the most pure and untouched nature parks in the Azores! From waterfalls to centenary trees, a magical and historical house in the middle of the property, breathtaking views to the Furnas Lake and hotsprings, Grená becomes one of the greatest natural parks of the Azores, now opened for everyone to visit and enjoy nature's best creation at it's purest state.

I have been one of the first Grena visitors indeed. when you arrive around the like you do not expect such a beauty just next door. Then you see volcanic springs steaming and bubbling and out of sudden red pathfinder heading directly to Grena natural park . You will discover pure nature full of waterfalls, small lakes , green beautiful plants. There is a lots of sceneries you basically want to stay for a while ... Just sit at one of many benches and simply breath ... You will feel beauty of Grena by each second you will be there . Like another universe .. Definitely one of “ must visit places” on Azores. Highly recommend if you need to relax and recharge your batteries ????????
