Port Stanley Beach

We visit here each summer and it is one of our favourite beaches. Very nice large sandy beach and the the water is the perfect depth for the kids. There is lifeguards on duty everywhere and I was also very impressed to see marine Fire Rescue out on a Sea-Doo circling the area and keeping a very good watch on both the swimmers and the boaters. It is always nice to feel like there is an extra set of eyes on your family keeping them safe and that right there makes it worth the money we pay to park there for the day (usually around $15). There is both washrooms ans changerooms just off the beach as awell as a picnic area and playground. Mackie's has great fries and fun little rides and games for the kids. We also enjoy going on the pier as well as walking along the boardwalk into the downtown. Got ice cream at Broderick's, a very cute vintage ice cream parlour and they had every flavour you could imagine. Port Stanley is a beautiful little town and I look forward to coming back again next year.

The pier was rebuilt a few years ago and provides a wonderful spot to enjoy the views up and down the shoreline of Lake Erie. Sun sets are a thing of beauty when viewed from the pier also. Port Stanley has begun some visible changes to further enhance the enjoyment of its residents and visitors.
