The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Keep children of all ages busy on some of the best play equipment in Singapore. The park, on the southwest coast of the island, also boasts jogging and cycling trails, bird watching, fitness equipment, a dog run, barbecue pits and overnight camping. Open fields are popular for kite flying and pick-up soccer matches. All three car parks are easily accessible from West Coast Highway. Bus service is also available.
West Coast Park may not be not as popular as East Coast Park but it has several gems to offer. I alighted at Haw Par Villa MRT station and cross the road to take either bus 175 or 176 for only two bus stops. This linear park runs parallel to West Coast Highway and the eastern end is just next to Pasir Panjang Wholesale Market. The eastern part of the West Coast Park starts with one of the largest Dog Run in Singapore. The jogging paths here are shaded by many Rain Trees with their large umbrella crowns. Beside other trees, there are also many Casuarina trees and Bird=nest ferns here creating a peaceful green haven. For a meal, one can dine at the waterfront La Pizzeria, with a breathtaking view of the pier. This little pizzeria within the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club is opened to the public and can access from the park from West Coast Ferry Road. It is closed on Monday and opening hours are limited to only lunch and dinner times. There is also a Mcdonald near to the playground. The Promenade Lookout Jetty juts out of the park’s shoreline, offering a good view of sunset and jetty’s many yachts docked nearby. The spacious Adventure Playground is home to four whole lanes of zip lines. The ground is also all covered in sand to cushion falls and there are also fun orbular space-themed and pyramid-shaped climbing nets. The waterfront offers good sea view on one side and numerous flowering hibiscus bushes on the other side. Bicycles can be rented from GoCycling @ West Coast Park. The waterfront continues seamlessly to a marshland boardwalk where species of birds such as White-breasted Waterhen, Striated Heron and hornbills come by occasionally. The Grand Lawn is a great place for a picnic or a game of frisbee with friends. It is also possible to enjoy Clementi Woods Park as it is linked to West Coast park by the West Coast Park Connecto
