For a town that was no more than a fishing camp and a few farms fifty years ago, Port Saint Lucie has grown to be a lovely vacation spot. Port Saint Lucie is the location of the spring training camp for the New York Mets. Visit Tradition Field and see how the team is shaping up for the coming season. Then, if you love to golf, head over to the PGA Village, a 51-hole complex with a learning center and historical center. To the east of Port Saint Lucie is the Atlantic Ocean, so you'll want to schedule at least one day for the beach. Port Saint Lucie is also located just north of the Saint Lucie River, so you can explore the beauty of the river region on the St. Lucie River Princess. You'll cruise in comfort and be taken by the breathtaking scenery of natural Florida. The cruise is shaded from the sun and narrated for your education and entertainment. Cruises start in the afternoon, so you can spend a leisurely morning first. You can also explore nature on foot by hiking in the Savannas Preserve State Park. The park also offers canoe trips and guided explorations. No trip to Port Saint Lucie would be complete without a visit to Lily's Cafe. It serves great food at great prices. If you're lucky, Lily herself might be your waitress. If you're feeling more exotic, El Cubanito serves Cuban cuisine in a family atmosphere. Other restaurants include seafood, Indian cuisine, and American cuisine.

The River Lilly is a 34-passenger pontoon boat, licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and owned by Eddie and Stephanie Hamrick. Eddie is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain. The cruise, on parts of the river so wild they were used in the James Bond film Moonraker to represent a tributary of the Amazon, is on the same waters used by early settlers and Native Americans. Each trip is different, but you're sure to see alligators, turtles and lots of native birds, maybe even playful otters or gentle manatees.

We were recently on a family holiday in Florida (from California) and were looking for something fun to do as a group that would work for a wide variety of ages. We had a relatively large group ranging in ages from 8 to 63...and EVERYONE enjoyed it! We booked "Uncle Bob's Cabin" and there was enough in the rooms to explore and keep everyone engaged. The younger ones had fun exploring the space and finding objects and clues and the older ones enjoyed making sense of it all. As impressive as the activity itself, was John, one of the owners. He was a pleasure to work with. He responded quickly to phone calls and was extremely accommodating! He explained things clearly and he was appropriately helpful and funny in the giving of clues once we were inside the room. And the cost was more than reasonable. We could not have been happier with our experience (it was a first escape room for many in the group...and I think they're hooked!). If we lived in the area, it would definitely be a regular family activity on the calendar!

Formerly named Thomas J. White Stadium, the Tradition Field is the home of the New York Mets during Spring Training.
We visit as much as we can, to watch the NY Mets in spring training and the Saint Lucie Mets when they are at home, as we live within walking distance of the stadium. We can’t wait to see what new features that have been added to the stadium when spring training arrives. We love being Silver Sluggers and seeing new talent as they get groomed for the big show.

Awesome park. Observe the 5 branches of the military, a monument to Florida’s Vietnam vets and so much more. Walked along the boardwalk and enjoyed talking some people fishing, walkers and boaters. The only thing that ruined it, was that a dog owner didn’t pick up their dogs poop on the boardwalk. Ugh!

The Savannas Preserve State Park encompasses close to 7,000 acres of natural area. The Savannas contains the largest, most ecologically intact stretch of freshwater marsh in Southeast Florida. Our main entrance, located off of Walton Road, offers visitors a number of ways to explore the park. There, we have an Education Center (Open Thurs-Mon, 9 am to 5 pm), a Canoe Launch and several miles of trails. Most of our trails are multi-use and are open to pedestrians, bicyclists and equestrians. The Park has several other entrances including one on Jensen Beach Blvd, which connects to the Main Entrance via a 5.5 mile trail, and an entrance off of Savannah Road that features the Hawk's Bluff Trail. The Park also has two remote locations: Evans Creek Canoe Launch and Miller Property. Evans Creek is located in the 8900 Block of US1 in Port St Lucie. Miller Property is located at the end of Lewis Street in Fort Pierce. This area features several miles of trails.
In some ways it's selfish of me to not tell all my opinions of this preserve, because I like my solitude complete and my natural beauty unspoiled. But, all in all, this is my go to place in south Florida. Try the naturalist-guided kayak tours to get a taste of the unique environment of the preserve.

Went with grandsons, 8 & 13 years old. Enjoyed bowling & laser tag. Will try indoor mini golf next time. Nice place to have fun indoors during hot Florida summer. Great food & service at Duffy’s for lunch.
