Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, has the tall buildings, neon lights and crowded streets of many cities, but also a multicultural Caribbean character and a homegrown calypso soundtrack. The best-known occasion is the flamboyant pre-Lenten Carnival. Among the city's other offerings are cricket and football matches, year-round festivals, a botanic garden, malls, an art and history museum and historic buildings. Entertainment options abound, but be cautious after dark.

I should start by saying, food tours are my thing so me saying this was the best food tour EVER is well-considered. I was in Trinidad alone for two nights and all I knew was that I wanted to eat doubles and have a roti. This was my first time to Trinidad & Tobago but I’m lucky enough to have had some great Trini’ food in London. Or so I thought! Turns out nothing tastes better than a Trini’ food tour, in Trinidad with a Trinidadian who has the tea on the very best places to eat. Firstly, Anthony is a gem. You’re in safe hands whether a solo traveller or in a group. His communication and helpfulness from immediate booking of the tour was great. I had the privilege of being the only person on my nighttime food tour - I think I might have been the last or one of the last tours before the pandemic hit full on in March 2020. In fact, the tour was one of the last things I did that was in the old normal! If there is ever a place where a carnivore could happily become vegan / vegetarian, it’s Trinidad. I had doubles, beef roti, corn soup, a pork cutter, soursop icecream and everything was incredible. Not to mention the great history of Trinidad, it’s people and its food, that Anthony will keep you entertained with. If you only go one one tour in Trindad, make it one with Trinidad Food Tours.

Enjoy this tour of Trinidad & Tobago's capital, Port of Spain, where its rich history is reflected in the daily lives of its citizens! Stroll through the bustling downtown along a promenade while hearing the tales of 19th Century architecture mixed in with modern buildings. You will visit a charming Woodford square, which is the lungs of the city and was the original town square. Your 4-hour experience will also take you to the uptown part of the city where you will see the glorious architecture of the Magnificent Seven, which were originally family homes built in the late 19th Century! You will visit our National Museum, where you will get a full guided tour, and the War Memorial, the Botanic Gardens, and a few other sites, all of which highlight our city's history and its richness in diversity; both in our people and in our religious beliefs. Our tour groups are kept small (no more than 6 people) to ensure a very personalised experience.

If you only have one tour to do in Port of Spain, this is the company to go with! From my first email to Anthony, to him dropping us off at the airport, everything went smoothly, and amazingly! We actually did two tours with him; The Port of Spain food tour, and the Trinidad Nighttime food tour. The first one started off with a pick up at our hotel sharply at 9am. We went and had a typical Trinidadian breakfast, followed by a small historical tour of Port of Spain. We saw various sites including the last stop being the astonishing views atop Fort George. The second tour started with Anthony picking us up sharply at 5pm from the international airport. We stopped at the Mount St Benedict Monastery, where we were treated to stunning views of the city below. We then embarked on the food tour which included 5 stops. The foods were; Corn Soup, Geera Pork, Doubles, Beef Roti, and finished off with the local homemade ice cream. Every street vendors Anthony picked were different, yet all awesome. My personal 2 favorites have to be the Geera Pork sandwich which was so delicious! The Beef Roti was also spectacular, with tender beer, potatoes, and rolled in a warm soft "tortilla" style bread. Being a Tour Operator myself, I cant speak highly enough on Anthony's phenomenal customer service skills, and outstanding professionalism! I wouldn't choose anyone else to show me around Port of Spain. Two thumbs way up to Anthony for an unforgettable experience!
