Port Isaac (Cornish: Porthysek) is a small and picturesque fishing village on the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The nearest towns are Wadebridge and Camelford, both ten miles away. Port Gaverne, commonly mistaken to be part of Port Isaac, is a nearby hamlet that has its own history. The meaning of the Cornish name is "corn port", indicating a trade in corn from the arable inland district.

Is the small National Trust Car Park area named Port Quin. It was deserted during our visit on a Sunday Night. Hope to visit when The Salt Pig is open. Very Picturesque Area. Take a look.

A truly remarkable church, take time out to visit, yes a steep hill to climb out of Port Isaac, Church Hill or as we call it heart attack hill and just following the road turning left at the T junction. From the outside it may look shut but push open the front door, it is heavy, so give it a big push and enter. So peaceful and take a moment to reflect in the peace and quiet or light a candle for those lost ones. Look upwards to see the wonderful roof timbers and marvel at curved one of the walls is! Wander round and look at the dates on the tombs inside and outside to get a glimpse of the history of the place. They do hold events here, a current brochure list forthcoming events and workshops, they do say the acoustics there are very good.

All of our pieces of pottery are handmade to the highest standards and we take pride in the high quality of our work. Precious metal lustres and gold are applied and each piece has at least three firings in both our electric and gas-fired kilns. The bold and elegant forms complement the watercolour-style decoration, which are often inspired by the North Cornwall coastline. All of our pottery is made in our workshop here at Port Isaac Pottery. Port Isaac Pottery is now proud to include the work of the rest of the family; Faye Hawkins with her unique handmade ceramics and her exclusively designed baby and toddler clothing range "Small Fry", Jo Hawkins upstairs gallery selling a range of giftware and clothing and Matthew Main's award-winning, inspirational photography. Chapel Cafe is a new addition to the family run business of Port Isaac Pottery. Our passion is simple local food & drink and great service! We prepare all of our food on the premises.
The cakes were nice, the coffee was pretty good but the ambience was wonderful. Such a lovely place to spend a little time. It was light and airy - we were pretty toasty next to the fire. Lovely to wonder round the crafts afterwards.

Well worth a visit, lovely little place, all the sites from Doc Martin TV series, fishmonger well worth a visit as was the gift shop, only bad point was the 20p charge for each toilet, best to park at large carpark at top of hill, not too bad walking down but a bit of a hike getting back up.
