We have visited Todd and Lynda shop on numerous occasions ,and each time purchased many items, including gifts customized for family and friends. They never disappoint. Our last visit over the Australia long weekend was no exception. Unfortunately we had to fly home earlier than expected leaving behind most of our gifts. One call later to Todd and all our presents were posted to us in Sydney. If you are visiting Port Douglas Fun stuff by Lynda is just. Thanks again Todd and Lynda

I tackled the Bump Track with a local hiking group on the weekend of Port Douglas Carnivale. It’s a fairly challenging hike with a steep uphill section for first 1.5 km, then undulating for next 3.5 km to Robbins Creek. (350 metres elevation in first 2 km). You need to cross Robbins creek and if you’ve got boots you’ll want to take these off as you’re feet will most definitely get wet. Approx 500 metres beyond the creek we took a side track to Big Mowbray Falls (this track is more narrow and took about 45 mins each way to the top of the falls). Here you can swim/cool off in the water and look out over a spectacular gorge opening out into rainforest. This side track isn’t far from the end of the Bump Track. Total Walk was around 15km if you do the side track (marked by pink ribbon, which I managed to miss the first time round). 12km just for Bump Track. I saw a black snake basking in the sun on the way back and apparently these are a common sight (I believe they are venomous). The Bump Track has a rich history (as an aboriginal trail and as a link for the early settlers to the hinterland by horse and cart) and there are plenty of info plaques on the way if you’re interested. To get there, drive a few kms south of Port Douglas and turn left just before the Mowbray Bridge down Mowbray River Road. Keep going down and turn onto Connolly Rd and continue until you get to the end over some dirt road sections.

We had read about this store in a review of good Port Douglas shops. We popped in to buy some gifts for friends and home and we weren't disappointed. I'm sure you could get something for everyone at this store - we got everything we needed in one place! Alison and Jules were really helpful and our gifts were beautifully wrapped. Friendly staff and a great range of gifts - visiting "With Sugar" was a highlight of our Port Douglas day!

We stayed at The Peninsula Boutique Hotel, at the far end of this awesomely serene Beach (just off Main Street, at the town end). The hotel, sits back but next to the beach and is ideally scenically located for the beach. Four Mile Beach is a Stunning view to see & a pleasure to explore.. Its wide; clean and the sand is not grainy underfoot.. Yes, there can sometimes be jellyfish in the water - BUT, you can swim in the safe / secure netted area (at the one end of the beach), snorkel & see the sea life very safely.. There’s also a lifeguard here, should you get into distress - again, adding to the safety of this lovely beach.. Additionally, you can cycle down this beach easily and safely - as well as enjoying a gentle stroll???? Just, don’t forget the sunscreen - whatever your doing on the beach????

A Beautiful Gourmet Boutique Biz Specialising in Fabulous Locally Grown Coffee and Tea, Delicious Locally Made Chocolate, Decadent Locally made Liqueurs and Gifts
Having visited the original Coffee Works in Mareeba last year, we were delighted to see that there is an outlet in Port Douglas to pick up our favourite chocolates, coffee and tea. Great choices, and very friendly staff. Their lemon myrtle dark chocolate pastilles and the chocolate covered mango are to die for.
