The Liberty Aviation Museum is a newer "working" museum that opened in July of 2012 at the Erie-Ottawa International Airport (PCW Carl Keller Field) in Port Clinton, Ohio. Our museum consists of our B-25 Mitchell, WWII bomber "Georgie's Gal" built in 1945, recently restored by Aero Trader out of Chino, CA. Ground vehicles include a 1941 Dodge ambulance, 2 Jeeps, German 37mm AA gun, German Horch Truck, German Field Kitchen, German Kubel, 3 BMW Motorcycles, Tiger Tank Replica, Hetzer Tank Replica, Panther Tank Replica (currently undergoing restoration away from the museum), & 2 WWII PT boats under current restoration (The PT-728 Thomcat is currently on display while restoration work is being completed in the museum's new hangar expansion. The sister boat, the PT-724 is currently on display outside by the museum's second hangar. The PT-728 Thomcat will be available for boat experiences when restoration is completed. We have many items that are on rotating display that may not always been on display throughout the year during your visit. Please contact us if you are interested in viewing a specific item. On permanent display within our galleries is the WWII service uniform of actor Clark Gable. The museum also has 3 screen worn uniforms from the actors who played Col. Klink, Col. Hogan, & Sgt. Schultz from the TV show Hogan's Heroes. Also, throughout the year we have many events such as big band hangar dances, Ford Tri-Motor rides, WWII era B-25, B-17, C-47, & AT-6 aircraft rides, Waco Biplane rides, concerts, books signings, car shows, and more. Please visit our website for more information!
I still wonder if the museum is so great or we loved it so much because we had an amazing breakfast at Tin Goose Diner right before visiting... Anyway, put both on your bucket list!

There was plenty to do here! The kids played all day in the water park. There is a small wildlife safari which is still amazing, bumper boats, miniature golf, go karts and an arcade. Plenty of seating area and a snack bar that has burgers, hot dogs chicken and pizza and ice cream. The kids were wiped out after the day here! The lines do tend to get long for the other attractions but that is to be expected.

This is a very nice state park with nice views across the water. We visited 2-3 times on our trip, to take our dog for long walks. There is also a beach area, which would be nice to visit in the warm summertime. There is a huge camping area, a boat launch & a kayak launch area. Lots of birds of all over the place. Great place to go for a walk or picnic, no admission fee.

The Catawba Island Brewing Co. Brewery and Tasting Room is an open-air building with large windows and tons of natural lighting. 12 beers and a cider on tap, over 20 wines and a small whiskey selection. Bar, high top, couch and patio seating available. Entertainment every Friday and Saturday night.
We came to the Catawba Brewing Company Halloween party for two years in a row. The costumes have been amazing and the music good.

I live in this community and I know what went into getting this lighthouse renovated and relocated close to where it originally stood. It has helped in saving this portion of the lakefront from any future development and created a new destination for locals and tourists alike. Festivals and weddings have been celebrated on the steps of this cute little lighthouse. And rumor has it there soon may be a boathouse too. There are picnic tables, benches, a nice shade tree and a small fishing pond right at the lighthouse itself. A fishing pier is near by located on the Portage River and Lake Erie. And you could walk the beach along the marsh enjoying the surrounding nature. It is great little lighthouse with historical ambiance in the small community of Port Clinton.
