Enjoy the wildlife they have rescued. Spend about 30-45 minutes here. Beautiful Peace River park adjacent to sanctuary, bring lunch or a snack and enjoy the scenery.

We are the single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and the only minor league baseball team in Charlotte County. Although we are a baseball team, there is something for everyone with the Stone Crabs including nightly on-field entertainment.
Sometimes you can sit in your car 30-60 minutes waiting in line to turn into that park. Why not an entrance from the back or side. If it's hot out I like to drink wine....the whole park frequently runs out quickly. Sometimes you can wait 30minutes in line for food. Bathrooms are plenty and are clean

Military Heritage Museum that features artifacts and memorabilia from all branches of the service and all wars the Civil War forward.
Do not miss the Military Heritage Museum when you visit the Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda. The museum is very well done and a fine tribute to our military. The museum is free, donations accepted, and very well worth your time. Most all items are private donations to the museum and show the pride of the owners and their dedication to our country. This is time well spent for non-veterans and well as veterans.

The Cultural Center enriches the lives of our residents and visitors by offering a theater, The Learning Place - for the Arts, Academics, Dance and Exercise; Beaches Cafe - for delicious breakfast and lunch; and unique shopping in the Thrift and Gift shops onsite. We can also accommodate seminars, banquets, and gatherings of any size in our adjustable 7,200 square foot conference center. Our volunteers, your donations, and the support of the community have allowed us to maintain our legacy as “The Place that Friendship Built”.
The Cultural Center serves an important function in Charlotte County. We have attended several special events in the well-appointed theater. The center also has a variety of classes, Mahjong and bingo games, thrift shops, a cafeteria, coffee shop, and an adequate Fitness Center. Many special yearly vendor days draw large crowds. The building also houses a public library branch

A park with picnic tables and shelter, fishing pier, hiking and biking trail, playground
What a great place for a picnic! This is on the river leaving to Charlotte Harbor near where a brand new huge resort is being planned to move in to. Fortunately the county has purchased vast tracts of land near the planed resort so that families in the area will always have this park and be allowed to enjoy nature and right along with the tourists!

We didn't even know there was a beach in Port Charlotte so we were surprised to see it on the map. It's a small beach in comparison to others in the SW Florida area.

Almost all of Punta Gorda's outdoor festivals and concerts happen at Laishley Park. When there is no event, you can still watch or take your children to the inter-active fountain and the playground. It is beautifully maintained directly on the Peace River. Take your book and just hang out. Ride your bike. And enjoy the nearby restaurants and the best ice cream shop--Scoops and Bites

Drove up and was so disappointed - there were construction workers outside and we could see into the shell of a building. Was thinking it had damage during Hurricane Irma and might be reconstructing, but there were no signs and two old cars in back end of the parking lot.
