We are an artist-owned fine art gallery specializing in traditional west coast style art of the Pacific Northwest. The gallery is on Tseshaht lands and houses Gordon Dick Studio while showcasing the work of local and regional artists. We carry handmade woodcarvings and jewelry, including masks, panels, free-standing or wall-mounted sculptures, doors, poles, and house beams. Ahtsik is a Nuu-chah-nulth word meaning “creating to the best of your abilities” and we select our artwork for its beauty and craftsmanship. May you enjoy it as much as we do.

An incredible and eclectic selection of local Vancouver Island artisans work as well as fair trade imports, and more! This is my favourite place to shop locally for gifts, or when I need a little treat for myself! As an added bonus, the owner and staff are lovely and helpful, adding to the pleasure of shopping at Blue Fish!

The Rollin Art Centre is worth a visit - a lovely selection of small gifts and local interest books, along with changing exhibitions-very high level of art. As this was a winter visit, the adjoining gardens were slumbering, but we can see how stunning this outdoor area would be in the summer months. There is some local First Nations art available for purchase in the gallery. I encourage you to drop in and support local artists, and in the summer, sample the tea on the terrace. Lots of street parking, easy access.

This Candy & Ice cream shop is a hidden gem in Port Alberni. Everything is made from scratch with TLC! It’s rare to find a business that’s owned and operated independently, and puts so much care into creating such wonderful treats for all to enjoy. During the holidays, every year you can even go down for complimentary, bottomless, in house made hot chocolate, and dip fudge into the chocolate fountain! FUN ????

Our night market delivers amazing live music featuring artists from the island, a kid’s corner, a variety of creative businesses and food vendors, food trucks and more. Did we mention Victoria Quay is the best place to spot a black bear searching for salmon along the river? Of course beautiful sunsets cap off the evening.
