Visit the site of the most famous escape of World War II from a German prisoner-of-war camp that went down in history as “The Great Escape”. In a tiny compound 600 men worked for a year in secrecy on the tunnels named Tom, Dick, and Harry. Finally, on the night of 24th of March 1944, 76 prisoners managed to escape from the camp through the Harry tunnel but soon after 73 were recaptured during the chase. Outraged, Hitler ordered to shoot dead fifty of them which was an appalling abrogation of the Geneva Convention. Find out more about those dramatic events at the Museum of Allied POW Camps in Żagań, visit the grounds of Stalag Luft III and the memorial to the brave airmen who paid the highest price for an escape they considered a soldier's duty.

After being collected from your accommodation in Warsaw by professional driver with social-distance car, you will make your way towards Treblinka, the biggest Nazi camp in all of Europe. The camp is only a 1.5-hour drive from Warsaw, and once having arrived, your guided tour will begin. In the central part of field full of stones, you will discover the famous must-see monument of "The Victims of Holocaust". Our family spent several days in Krakow in the safe and very friendly hands of our most knowledgable and highly skilled driver Alek. He was prompt collecting us from the apartment, and he had a unique knowledge of his city and homeland. Alek added considerable value to the trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau, and was very patient with our granddaughter. On the following day he drove us to the Salt Mines in very difficult weather conditions . On the last day he took me to the shooting range, and afterwards showed me the picturesque lake and facilities of Krakow Bagry. Both his reliability and dependability ensured that our trip to Krakow was a complete success. We would highly recommend the company he works for namely 'Welcome in Krakow'. We hope to return to the city and avail ourselves again of the company's and Alek's expertise. Brilliant!

Come along on this self guided audio tour of Wilanów Palace is Poland's "Little Versailles", the home of its greatest King, Jan III Sobieski, a legendary man of many virtues, talents and interests. Classically educated, he was a writer, a formidable warrior, a leader, statesman, gardener, and patron of the arts, science and culture. He was a man who loved his family, God and country and sought peace to develop and uplift his people during his golden era. Yet when peace was threatened, he was a man with a talent for war. For the next 60 minutes, we will explore the Palace complex together, learn its story and reveal secrets discovered by archaeologists and researchers only a few years ago. There is so much to know about the early history of Wilanów, its majestic landscape, its artistry and deep symbolism, and the legendary battle that shaped European history and established King Jan as a truly heroic figure.

There are many great attractions in Warsaw, and this tour is a way to learn about them and gain new insights into the city, explore at your own pace and get a lot out of the tour without the crowds limiting what you can hear or the time you can pause for photos, or getting in the way. It takes ~70 minutes to complete, and allows one to pause and restart at will if you want to spend more time somewhere or take a lunch break. There's genuinely more info here in this short walk than in the 2 hour guided tour. Once you're done you have a knowledge of how to orient and get around in Warsaw's main tourist district, and have new places to put on the list of attractions to explore further.

Such a humbling experience to visit, although was a key reason why we visited Krakow. So much of it is left to see & the feeling of walking through the gas chamber was eerie. Our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable, helpful & friendly. We appreciated her knowledge & pace of the tour. There were a number of times where we were asked to be respectful & remain silent in certain parts, which really made me think about what happened there. Whilst what happened there was tragic, the tour and information was fantastic. It was split across 2 separate sites & as we had our own transport we met our group at the 2nd site, without any issues. If you visit Krakow, this is a must trip! Given the history of this place, it wasn't quite what I expected. It was humbling & just made us appreciate life a bit more.

Auschwitz was established in 1940 It was the biggest Nazi concentration camp for Poles and prisoners from other countries. They were condemned by the hitlerite fascism to isolation and slow extermination by hunger, exhausting work, criminal experiments, or to a quick death as a result of individual and mass executions. A place definitely worth seeing. From start to finish this tour was outstanding. For obvious reasons it was an emotional and shocking day but a part of history that should never be forgotten. Our tour guide was fantastic (sorry, I cannot remember her name), the way she explained everything gave us a clear understanding. I took my teenage girls with me and they didn't want to say they 'enjoyed' the trip due to the nature of Auschwitz but it certainly will stay with us for a very long time. The communication and organisation of this company means we highly recommend them. many thanks for such an informative day. We went in December 2019 before Covid. Posting this review late. Sorry.
