Sitting only 18 miles South of the US border with Quebec, Plattsburgh was once a major hub in the fur trade with Montreal. The city is made for walking, full of beautiful turn of the century buildings and manicured parks. A River Walk follows the Saranac River as it cuts through town, ending at the shores of Lake Champlain, home to Champy, the American cousin of the Loch Ness Monster. The surrounding area is part of Adirondack Park, America's largest wilderness preserve outside of Alaska.

Working farm offering a fall corn maze, pumpkin patch, wagon rides, petting zoo, and kids play area. Petting zoo animals include fainting goats, pygmy goats, chickens, pot belly kids, and a calf. The farm also raises Belgian Draft Horses, cattle, and donkeys. We are open from mid September through October for pumpkin picking and corn maze adventures. There is also fresh produce seasonally. Winter sleigh rides run from mid December through February and are located at the Historic John Brown Farm in Lake Placid, NY. The farm also has seasonal produce for sale, as well as fresh eggs.
Wonderful sleigh ride in a winter wonderland. The horses are beautiful. Great for families. A must do when in Lake Placid.

Located directly on Lake Champlain, Historic Bluff Point Golf Resort, designed by famous golf course architect A.W Tillinghast and established in 1890, features 6 fully equipped Cottages and 12 Suites all located between two of the holes. The course is a Parkland style with a length of 6309 yards, sloped and well bunkered greens a signature of Tillinghast are found throughout. The signature, par 3, 5th hole runs its length along Lake Champlain. With views of the Green Mountains of Vermont, New York's Adirondacks, and Valcour Island, Bluff Point is the area's most scenic golf course. Great Golf, Relaxation, a 600' Private Sand Beach, kayaks, and hammocks await your stay.
Third time here. This place deserves more recognition than it receives. The cabins are perfectly located and have everything you need. You will need to minimize what you bring because the only way to get your belongings there is via golf cart. However, that minimal sacrifice is made up with the view of Lake Champlain and for a golfer there is truly no better deal than what you get here for the money. A total win every time all the way around. We will continue to come back every year!!

I love this park as I launch my kayak here from Deep Bay (Lake Champlain), as the area is uncrowded, and has a dock and parking area. There are also hiking trails, one of which goes along the cliffs and provides great views of Lake Champlain. There is also a nice public beach in the park.

FABULOUS! This place looks like nothing from the outside but is a MUST STOP! It is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful and fun and the food is superb - and their home made cider is terrific and I don't like cider - but this was so smooth and so crisp - STOP. Do. Not. Pass. Go. STOP here! They are friendly and courteous and it is quaint and wonderful! We drove 50 miles out of our way to go back to this place on our way back from Canada. Lots of Gluten-free options - just because they do a lot of foods that are natural and gluten-free. They have plenty of parking and an adorable sitting area outside. On our first visit, there was a large group doing a pre-wedding lunch outside and they could not have chosen a better place - that's what they said! I agree. The outside area is tucked in among the vines heavy with grapes and it is too cute! The service was a bit slow the first time - the lady waitress was struggling a bit - turns out she is the wife of the owner who helps out - but she could not have been nicer! She wanted to be sure she got everything right. This is a family affair and it is done with love. 1. Don't judge it by its outside. Once you have gone you will like the "down to earth" kind of vibe! 2. Order the cider. 3. It's a dive - a GREAT dive.

I love Lake Champlain, so when in Plattsburgh we always take a trip around the lake. Sometimes we even take the Ferry to Vermont.. Well worth the trip. Have many friends who we grew up with still enjoy this beautiful lake.
