Clear blue waters!!! Organised beach but laying uden the trees (almirikia) is highly proposed!!! Choose to spend the whole day there (trust me it is worth it)

Kourtaliotiko Gorge

A long and pleasant walk along the gorge through breathtaking scenery, past waterfalls, fountains, deserted chapels and monasteries, to an authentic palm beach at Preveli. You can even catch a glimpse of a lammergeier if you are lucky. Watch out though for slips and trips - stout shoes essential.

Ammoudi Beach

Reviewed By MorgannP2

Micro Ammoudi is an awesome beach although textiles are dominating by 90% or more. I think the locals don’t like the nude foreigners as I heard one local complain to a nudist claiming it wasn’t a nude beach. If it’s not a nude beach then why don’t they make it such, they can afford a sign no? And they don’t seem to mind the money the tourist bring in. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. We can always go to Spain if they have a problem with nudity.

Triopetra Beach

Reviewed By Ulysses336 - Brasov, Romania

This beach is accessible from the road connecting Rethymno to Agia Galini ; it can be considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the south coast of Crete ; the name comes from the three majestic rocks which divide the bay into two beaches ; in fact ,the word triopetra means presumably “the three stones”; the smallest is called the small Triopetra or Koumado and is ideal for those who wish to be more secluded or quiet ; the larger beach is also called Chatsi or Triopetra ; the beaches are at the foot of a hill of olive trees ; the place is also ideal for watersports experts as the sandbanks created by the currents make the seabed unpredictable ; for those who stay longer until the evening , it is a wonderful occasion of admiring the breathtaking sunset ;

Skinaria Beach

Reviewed By jusaja

Good sand, protected from most winds, smaller waves, beautiful sea bottom with plenty of fish, sundbeds 6 EUR, toilets in two beach tavernas, parking is a bit challenging if you come late, 15 mins drive from Plakias in a scenic road. After years of visits, this remains among my favourite beaches in Crete (visited over 50 beaches). You can eat in the local tavern but don't except much quality in food or service.

Souda Beach

Reviewed By luluandharry - Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom

Love this beach. The sea is very clear here and there are sun beds on the beach. Not sure if there is a fee in high season but we were there in April and didn’t need to pay. There are beach bars and 2 tavernas.
