Pizzo is a one of the nicest little cities in the middle of Calabrian western coast. We stopped for few hours on the way to Capo Vaticano. You can find the parking in the old part of the city, the best is small parking at Castello Aragonese, just 100m from the main square, Piazza della Repubblica (pay the ticket as the have regular control). From the main square, you can take beautiful photos of Pizzo beach, there are lots of restaurants and ice cream shops have a nice meal and a Tartufo at the end. Pizzo is the place where Tartufo ice cream was born. They have many types, all are great, but the best was the Pistacchio. From the square, you can also have a nice walk through the narrow streets with lots of shops. We also did a city tour with »tuk-tuk«, the famous Piaggio Scooter. It cost 15€ per tour (cca 15 minutes), you go down to the beach and around the city back to the old town. It is nice and fun. If you want an English guidance ask for Giovanni (he drives blue scooter), he is very kind and speaks fluent English.
