What to do and see in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PA): The Best Bars & Clubs

November 25, 2021 Velvet Mowry

Pittsburgh has been remade and reimagined. Think 24 miles of riverfront trails, beautiful parks and historic attractions. Home to 90 neighborhoods, the ‘Burgh feels authentic and unpretentious. No visit is complete without a trip to the Strip District or PNC Park, a ride up the Duquesne Incline or a stop at The Andy Warhol Museum. Architecture buffs love Pittsburgh for the amazing downtown buildings. Hollywood producers, do, too—the city has even been called the “Hollywood of the East."

Arsenal Cider House & Wine Cellar

We loved our visit to Arsenal! The inside is very unique full of delicious ciders and a wine sorbet. Outside was a great surprise with a variety of seating, fire pit, corn hole, and more games. It was a fun, friendly environment!

Mario's Oakland Saloon

Mario's was created by a local Pittsburgh legend named Bob Pessolano in 1982. After 25 years of devotion to his South Side patrons, he retired in 2007 and left his establishment to 3 young professional drinkers who had the foresight to not fix which was not broken... In 2018, Mario's was approached by the owners of the iconic Peter's Pub in the heart of Oakland. After 44 years, George and Peter Leventis decided they want to get out of the game and pass the torch to a group they knew would respect their vision. We were honored that they thought of us. In May of 2019, Mario's Oakland Saloon opened its doors. Today we are a unique blend of Neighborhood, College, and Sport's Bar all rolled into one. We offer our customers a welcoming and relaxed environment where friends both old and new can hang out, where you can test your wits at Team Trivia, enjoy Karaoke, and catch your favorite Sport's team.

Butterjoint

Reviewed By JosephG482

Had a meal at one of the small tables. Ordered from the higher priced Legume menu. Glad I did. Although the burger and bar menu of butterjoint looked good, the blue fish pate was a great starter, the bricked chicken was moist and lightly seasoned, and desserts are well worth the calories. By 6pm on a week night every seat at the bar was filled as was every table. Noise level was very acceptable given the number of people present.
