very clean park, huge lake, good shady spot, quiet at moccasin track. saw a deer and clear sky to see the milky way, would definitely go back. the spots could be closer to the water but are nice. has small cemetery of 1800's confederate soldiers.

Lovely setting, excellent food, award-winning wine, delightful staff and a cozy cottage. There are not enough superlatives for this gem of a destination winery! Highly recommend the Private Tasting and the Tuscan Cottage for overnight. We will definitely be back!

We stopped by specifically to see the Ezekiel Airship but found so much more! Jim gave us a very interesting & informed tour of this museum located in the old train depot. We enjoyed learning about the history of the town & spending time talking with Jim. It is definitely worth your time when you are in this area.

Witness Park and Prayer Tower

Reviewed By texasrepublichistory - Dallas, TX

The Prayer Tower is located in the middle of town and is beautiful outside and inside. I believe the tower bells ring every half-hour and can be heard all over town. Inside, the small prayer chapel is surrounded by tall, beautiful stained-glass windows. The outside fountain and refection pool are ringed by trees and comfortable benches. A very pretty and peaceful place. Recommended.

Efurd Orchards

The produce stand was nice and had lots of different things, however, the produce was VERY expensive. All I'd heard about this place was how wonderful the peaches are and how delicious the cantaloupe ice cream is. Went there just for those things. Peaches--as I stated--are expensive. They're really pretty, but the bushel I bought was hard and nary any juice from the ones I bought. Very disappointing. Walked over to order that awesome cantaloupe ice cream I'd heard all about and guess what.....they don't have it. Major let down. Oh well. The kids loved the tractors and pond area.

St. Rose Vineyard and Winery

Muscat grape specialty wines. The person there was wonderful about allowing me to taste as much as I wanted and showed me some new flavors by mixing wines together. Limited hours when they are open but a fun little find on a small country road. I ended up buying a couple of bottles.
